I am getting a CEL every time I start the car with the error “Engine Control System Failure Goto Dealer”. I tried all the battery reset procedures and have a relatively new Antigravity so I know it’s not a battery issue. I have a cheap $15 OBD reader and just scanned my OBD port and got back error code P1115. Searches on the internet for P1115 show “Intake Air Temperature 2 Circuit High Input”.

Not sure what this is. Anyone that can offer advice on the P1115 error?

    What should I check?

If it’s a bad sensor, how do I know that, and how do I know exactly what new sensor to buy? Is there a specific sensor that correlates to P1115?

    Any help is appreciated!

Ferrari might not use the generic fault codes. I found this reference:

    Ferrari 375 P1115 Code Meaning : P 1 1 1 5

    (P) OBD-II Diagnostic Powertrain Trouble Code For Engine
    (1) Fuel And Air Metering
    (1) Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
    (1) Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
    (5) Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction

Rather than guess on a $250K car with a $15 code reader, taking it to a shop that is familar with these cars would be a great first step...and likely the least expensive. As to the code read, a P0xxx code is generic. Any P1xxx is manufacturer specific.

There is information in the Technical forum regarding problems with the crankshaft sensors. I agree you need to consult with an expert Italian car mechanic.

If WMUNO is correct on the code, easy check before going to dealer. Get a fuel pressure gauge, connect to valve stem and see if pressure is correct(if no gauge, go to Oreilly/Autozone and use there’s(free)) if too high, replace fuel regulator, if good, then bring in for service

Thank you very much! How do I know what is a normal fuel pressure reading?

Sorry, that I don’t know. Also check the fuel pressure sensor

Careful with that. The 458 has a very high-pressure fuel system that I would not try to diagnose without the proper tools and knowledge.

100% correct..do not be playing with a high pressure fuel system if you are not familure with it.

If you want to see the pressures you can monitor with a scan tool.
