More like choosing between a Scuderia and a 458 Italia ... and even there, I would argue that the Scuderia was more authentic to its claimed brief than the Pista.

Yes sorry wrong wording...meant last of the special cars that ae not hybrid..whatever we call those these days. Anyway...I jut simply love the looks of the Pista over everything else.

good explanation...yes all subjective. They are all super nice and people like various versions more than others for there own reasons and none are wrong.

Correct...sorry yes I used wrong wording...meant last of the special non-hybrid cars. Before someone corrects about the 812 Competizione...I am talking about mid engine. LOL

The 296 is like a Lotus in terms of size and styling. Objectively and subjectively much less presence than a Pista. Almost questioned why the factory allowed a tiny little exotic 296 to leave the factory when I saw the vehicle in person.

I agree the Pista was a home run for Maranello in terms of design and overall performance with the spectacular engine to boot.

There is really no comparison between the two cars. Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder 9/10 would agree the Pista wins hands down.

The 296 is a spectacular and beautiful car. It actually looks like a modern take on the Ford GT40.

The new seat design and the console are works of art.

Having said that, the 488 is Ferrari perfection and the Pista is perfection on top of perfection.

I wish I had more and better pictures of the interior. It’s the show stopper for sure.

A microwave will cook a burger faster than a burger cooked on the Green egg with charcoal- but I much prefer the green egg charcoal burger.
Pista for the win although 296 performance is undeniable.

Well, for me it looks like a cross between a lotus, size, and a 1995 Chevy Camaro. My local dealer has tried to sell me one of several used 296's they have. No thanks. I've never heard someone say it was beautiful before, but styling opinions are subjective.

I'll go out on a limb to predict that the 296 will trade only slightly higher than a 458 in a few years. the 296 will trade higher only because of the HP. Design wise, in my opinion, 458 is far better.

As said before too, the 296 will be cheaper than an F8 within a couple years…

The 458/488/F8 is the “ out of the park” era for Ferrari.

The 296 when compared to other mfg’rs in its class today, is still in my opinion a very good looking car.

When compared to the previous platform, it isn’t even close.

Hybrid kills the idea of ever having one of those in a Ferrari.

    Right spec Pista 100%.

Hum I wonder how many would be persuaded on a 296 if it was engine only and light weight and manual ? Hum seems to me Porsche is still look after enthusiast maybe even better than Ferrari ?

I was speaking with a friend of mine on Sunday morning, a 5 times national Rally Champion. The discussion was not about Ferraris, but whether a car is about driving or looks. He was laughing at anything that wasn't driving/performance related. Personally, I can understand both viewpoints, but a car is a driving machine.

It seems to me that is a false choice. A car can be both and since when is a Pista not about driving? Ferrari's are toys. They're not practical in any sense of the word. They're about emotion. If a 296 does it for you that's fine. However, if its only about stats, there is some guy, living in a rural area, that has a Chevy Nova or an AMC Gremlin he tinkers with that will blow the doors off any Ferrari. For him, the satisfaction he derives from his car is not wholly unlike the Ferrari owner's. Personally, I'd still choose the Pista over his Gremlin.
