Typically Italian made: great looks ... but so stupidly constructed. Cable sticks out 90 degrees instead of "falling down" ...

Try get the red panty on the car with it .... the connector cannot hold ... either cut a hole in the red panty or ... no panty :) !

THIS will be the answer: never scwitched the tender ON yet ... it should be always imo ...

Thanks for correcting my error. I mis-read the title of the post.

Interesting. I'm betting the Bluetooth got hung up . I was trying to connect iPhone via Bluetooth when this problem occurred. I did turn Bluetooth off on my phone and switch over to FM radio afterwards and still no sound. I'm betting there was some sort of hang up where the system was stuck in media/Bluetooth mode. Shutting the car off over night gave the system time to sort it out... Hopefully a firmware upgrade will fix this .

"Giallo77 is the radio working when you are seated in the car and when you open the door to exit, then it stops? This would be normal."

Yes, but this is stupid - when I want to leave the car quickly and to sit back in or so... I have to start the radio again... Why this?

Happened to me again today. 2 times in two weeks. Car was fully charged and then driven about an hour. Parked for 4 hours and when I got back in it was again no sound for any source (radio, satellite, Bluetooth or iPod). Told dealer about who said they had never heard about it but clearly there is a software bug.

If there is a SW upgrade, they will upload it at your next service. You can probably call the dealer and they can tell you by looking at pending updates based on your VIN....though I doubt it.

One (Additional) trick, it's somewhat of a hassle, but try deleting the pairing from the car AND phone, and re-pair the phone. IIRC when I upgraded my iPhone, and then again a version of iOS, I had intermittent issues like this. I had BIG issues (similar) with the PCM in our Cayenne as well.

Thanks for the tip. I was going to do that exact thing today with unpairing the phone. As far as the software or firmware update - Nothing yet but they've only delivered 4 488s thus far. I told the service manager to make a note of it and he said they would pass along to Ferrari. I assume they are hearing it from European customers more given the higher numbers of cars on the ground?

Mine did something weird today, it simply dropped the bluetooth and acted as if bluetooth wasn't in the car. Wouldn't let me pair a new phone, wouldn't let me connect, all those options were grayed out.

I let the car sit for an hour on charger (even though it was on charger all the previous night) and retried, all was normal.

    Just another data point.

    Cheers,

    Ron

FYI, took a video of the problem and sent to the service manager. He's going to forward to Ferrari and make a formal query...

So my car has done this about 4 times in the last 6 weeks I've owned it. Talked to dealer yesterday and I guess Ferrari is aware of the issue and working On a firmware update.

Just invest in a Lithium Ion battery ya'll already!!!

No more hassles; granted they are expensive but imho
well worth the investment on a 250K+ USD car.

Mines done this numerous times over the past two weeks of ownership. Tech's at the dealership have tried a fix to no avail :-(
I'm off on vacation shortly, so they'll have two weeks to play with it and get it fixed!

Sorry guys... its not the battery (mine has a full battery on tender every night and nearly 1000 miles in last 6 weeks). I also disconnected the bluetooth and deleted the phone etc. Is a firmware glitch in the new 2016 UI. Confirmed by dealer and Ferrari is working on a patch...

Yes. Hold down the console button to the right of the steering wheel for around 5-10 sec and it'll shut off. Interestingly this will open up a large speedometer display which is pretty cool. This will shut down the whole console to right other than speedometer.

There's always something on a Ferrari that doesn't work. If its the radio, quit while you're ahead!

Nothing yet. I wouldn't put it past Ferrari to take all summer to finish this Firmware update. My car is now doing this almost daily. If the weather wasn't so great out for driving I'd probably have it in the shop to put some pressure on. Im officially annoyed by this but SO HAPPY I didn't upgrade the hifi for $5K or I would be pissed....

Just got back from my vacation and left the 488 with the dealer to get this sorted. Report is; yes, Ferrari know there is a problem, and they're working a software fix. Should be done by .... wait for it ........ October! FFS!
Been told it's a Bluetooth phone hook up issue; so when I stop and before turning the motor/ignition off, I need to disconnect the Bluetooth on the phone from the car system, then shut down. Yeah, right... wonderful, thanks Ferrari for the help

Ok guys, I have the same issue and have since the day I got the car. It's a major issue for me. I go crazy without music playing in the background. My dealer has delivered about 20 488's and has never had anyone else experience this issue. Lucky me... LOL
