Firmware update confirmed. My car is being done right now.
I was the OP on this issue around three months ago. Interesting that the problem is a pandemic. Glad to hear there is a firmware fix. I'll be taking my car in for an update soon too. Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread up to date.
Was just told that my car is "up to date" and there are no software updates available. This makes driving the car a drag sometimes
That cant be right Alex. Call Bill, service manager at Ferrari of Los Angeles and ask him for the specific update info. He got the update the day before I left for Monterey.
My 488 just went in for the software update. My dealer didn't even know about it until I told him about this thread. Hopefully they are able to download and solve the issue today. Thanks guys for being a great resource for this issue.
this is the exact same thing thats happening to mine, upgraded JBL speaker system too, won't change channels but i can hear radio fuzz when i crank to full volume
I just brought home a 2017 488 and have had the radio issue occur twice in the last few days. I guess I'll call the dealer to see about the software update- hopefully that's the cure for mine.
2015 is better works great 2014 and before has gremlins Sent from my CLT-L09 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Does anyone know if there is a consensus on the fix for this? My 2020 Pista has the same problem (can only imagine it has the latest software). Everything working but no sound from radio or paired device. Was working fine yesterday.
There are many things I love about my 488... the media interface, reliability of the radio working properly do not happen to be one of them... and let’s not even start with batteries.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Any updates on the firmware? 2018 488... speedo works on right screen. Turn radio on and it used to shut off in 5 seconds while displaying the usual initial warning, then loading satellite radio info... then off. Disconnected battery. Reconnected... now when you turn on it goes from a clear speedo to basically a screen with nothing (like old antenna tv's with "snow"). uhhhh
Ok so what was the outcome, last post 3 months ago. Some day dealer waiting for SW upagrade others say it was installed. If it was installed did it do the trick for no radio volume.
Update... 2018 488 Initially started acting weird and shutting off after 5 seconds. Its now changed. Stays on. Operates fine EXCEPT the output to the display is static . If I turn off, the speedo output to the display is fine. So it's the display output if the infotainment.... When the infotainment is off.. The speedo display functions. This isn't rocket science. Considering the replacement cost of the unit.... There's clearly an opportunity for someone to ffix these infotainment units.
No. Been traveling. Gonna have my friends at ferrari look at it but in the end.. This really should be easily trouble shot on a bench
