    Here is a sloppy sketch.
The base photo is SP38, but not randomly, I think has a few design cues in common with that: -exhaust possition for eg. The front think it will be very very simmilar

So do you guys think the new car is going to have a faster Fiorano time than Laferrari? I'd say around a half a second faster. :)

Not sure the look is right, a bit too corvette-like at the back, but I think you’re on to something with the general concept. In particular, the Pista met such a warm reception with the aggressive rear end, influenced by aero, that I think they might max out the concept as you have hinted, opening the rear of the car to get significant downforce. They would probably go even further than your image. If they can find a way to do this without resorting to the inelegant solutions of the Senna yet still match its track pace, that would be a real feather in the cap for their design philosophy (aero-influenced shape but no large protrusions).

What might allow them to do this is the hybrid system. If they go with a smaller block engine, with fewer belt-driven ancillaries, that would leave them to locate the battery low in the chassis and the electric motors at the front (rumoured 4wd?) meaning a lot of space is vacated at the rear to open everything up to airflow.

I must admit, that would be pretty exciting.

in feb 2017 this patent was leaked and at the very same time a full scale model of that design was spotted in ferrari world Abudhabi. it is still in there. it may be the "secret/innovative" model that Manzoni wanted to keep secret ( in an autocar interview) and wanted to use as an one-off or something.

Here it's almost official that Ferrari will introduce an Hybrid V-8 TT (and 4wd) car next spring, that will be positioned "over the 488". At my eyes this confirms that the 488 replacement will have a V6 hybrid,

It will be interesting to see what kind of AWD system they use. Very excited this car is coming so soon.

I' m not sure the car will have 4wd ..
More kind of sophisticated Mguh and Mguk paired with a stepped up V8TT.
And a very complex electronic management system

    yes! why not?

until it has a good sound and bring the most out of the dynamic of the car, as the lighter powertraing should do, yes I am very excited. It could be the car that re-launch Ferrari as an enthusiast brand, because frankly, sice the 488 came out, they seems to stayed a bit far from the raw driving experience and a bit too much into luxury and comfort.

    Thanks ,

So ~ 900 hp and clever 4wd , I understand why they said it will be faster than a Laferrari.

state of the art technologies', of course. I don't know if the V6 will have the split turbocharger like te patent they have for the 4 cylinder engine: I hope and I think it will have it

It makes sense that the higher than 488 car has AWD, Ferrari said that one is all performance and the new 488 fun.

We are taking about hybrid and all but aren’t we forgetting about electrical turbos? Ferrari has a patent on that.

I don’t think the new car will be just a pista engine with electric engines.
I’m expecting a new engine with electric turbos/superchargers.

You don't think the replacement for the 488 will first appear with a normal twin turbo V8 motor???

An on-demand Awd with electrified front axle will be very interesting. But a twin turbo paired with twin MGUH (even more complex than F1!) would be a technological masterpiece and automotive breakthrough. Time will tell if they will fit both systems in a single car

It isn't going to be a single car though. The V6 hybrid will be the direct replacement for the 488 with incremental performance gains. Meanwhile, the V8 hybrid will be a mid engine supercar above the V6 hybrid, something that does not exist now (And it is supposed to outperform LaFerrari, so holy living actual!). The AWD with electric motors for the front wheels is a new revelation for me, and I have not seen that anywhere else but here. But the V8 hybrid is supposed to be revealed in the spring, so all the questions will be answered in a few months. :)
