I understand Ferrari is far more established and does not need to mimic the McLaren product lineup. Nor am I familiar with the 570 & 720S (both mid-engine V8s) sales synergy. If the little brother and big brother are both production models and non-LE nor Icona series: Could Ferrari’s next generation little brother and big brother lineup be conceivable as an ‘entry-level’ and ‘mid-level’ mid-engine V8 lineup similar to McLaren’s 570 (~$220K) & 720S (~$350k) product silo, negating the introduction of the ‘unknown’ variable of a V6 car? And depending on perceived market health, pricing point shifting from: LB ~$220k to ~$300k BB ~$320k to ~$450k At a ~2:3ish ratio? A Ferrari product strategy timeline slide from the post Sergio era (May his soul Rest In Peace) would be most interesting.
Well, you seem to like to be troublesome person. What can I say, Ferrari is not afraid of any competition, whether we are joking or talking seriously . Future models, including 488 replacement are to support that tradition.
I'd like to explain why some people (like me) believes the 488 replacement (so called Little Brother) could be V6-engined First, some insider-sources said that the V6 will not be confined to front-engined cars. Obviously that's an unofficial and not-confirmed statement. Secondly, Ferrari's people officially said "no Dino". I'm interpreting this as "no new mid-engined models below/cheaper than 488". Accordingly to these clues, the only way to put a V6 midship should be the brand-new LB.
Interesting idea there! However it all depends on the V6 LB price. What is the incentive to buy a V6 Ferrari when there are many 488 twin turbo V8 cars readily available potentially for less money. Is that 488 the last model to have a simple twin turbo V8 with no electric add on? Everything I saw pointed to the V6 coming later after a V8TT car on the new platform and not just the FL car.
It makes some logic what you say Doug23, but not for Ferrari. As I have told before, Ferrari is breaking its normal car cycle. You should expect some surprises for the future, probably the mayority of them for 2020 in terms of “unexpected” surprises. Because for 2019 you already can imagine based on previous posts. To consider that Ferrari have not decided internally and confirmed the last car for 2019, and I say this to show you guys that even them have to decide and confirm which product they will launch at that date. But about that I can say that it is very unlikely to see a V6 in 2019 and I say very unlikely to not say impossible, because there is still a very little chance they change its program for the end of the next year. Please consider the following as a Christmas gift and please read between words because I cant say more than this: -For Geneva Ferrari will be waiting with open arms specifically to all their unhappy clients that were refused to get a Pista. -I would be carefull and would double check the ”insiders” sources about V6 engine for front engine cars. -I would double check also about “No Dino”. Maybe not a Dino itself, but what about a very little brother? - And finally, what legendary car you would like to see reborn in the future? Tell me your top 40. If any website wants to use this comments or information please don’t forget to give all credits to the FerrariChat community. Merry christmas to all of you.
my avatar says it all! ferr9000 thank you for your great Ferrari automotive wisdom that you share so generously here.
I hope they will not regret not getting Pista's allocation after that reveal I'm scratching my head. No way they will revive the F40 just for me . Merry Christmas, guys , Merry Christmas
if ferrari decides to join Fia Wec hypercar programe in 2021, we could see atleast 100 race homologation road cars. So what type of engine will they choose..a v6, v8 or v12 hybrid? If it is a v6 hybrid engine, then the homologation cars are expected to have a highpowered v6. We have to wait and see if it really happens. https://racer.com/2018/12/17/ferrari-in-the-running-for-wec-hypercar-program/
Merry Christmas too and thank you for informations . So big brother will be a modern F40 . Sportiest range as Ferrari clearly said months ago .
Thank you ferr9000. Maybe I messed up trying to explain my thoughts, but I totally agree with you on this matter. Merry Christmas to you!
We can assume the talk can be about "a new F40", but whether in icona range (so very limited production numbers) or a regular production model ("BigBrother?")? Because my first thoughts are, if they want to retain the timeless F40's silhouette with the iconic wing, then the "new F40" will end up as an "icona" collectors model. What vision of "a reborn F40" do you have guys?

I've seen one of the same design in black. I cannot remember the source at the moment, via Motorauthority or sth. Thanks for posting those renders. Added link: https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1119883_designer-samir-sadikhov-envisions-a-modern-ferrari-f40
Sure, sure .. Plus no power steering, heavy clutch (no no, there will be no manual clutch, sorry ), lexan windows, inconel exhaust but ... with high performance hybrid system instead of just two "rubber" petrol tanks. Total power output? Easily over 900hp. We need it to be ... fast as hell, raw as fxxk (pun intended) and ...gentlemen, hats off to the reborn legend, "a new F40". We need to shake the automotive world again.
