F142M FL, F142M M3... Does anyone know how many 488 variants there will be after the Pista? The VS used to be the last iteration of a model, with a regular pattern only a spider version of the VS would be expected.
Next is Pista Aperta followed by a Pista LE (details TBA). The old model progression pattern is no longer valid.........it's a brave new (profitable) world!
So I may hope (selfishly) that the Pista LE will crush the resale price of the regular Pista 2 years from now
I wouldn't be too sure of that......current story is that it will only be made available to Challenge drivers replicating their Challenge livery, dedicated name plates etc.........time will tell.
In addition to a Challenge model on the shelf the Challenge racers can now have a 1 to 1 model in their garage to. How thoughtful of Ferrari!
We're talking resale values Plus the reason the Speciale is doing so well on resale is the NA engine IMO
My prediction.......residuals for the Pista with it's 'un-limited' production run will still outstrip the '750LT' as a limited numbered edition. In the end who cares, life is too short, get the one that will put a bigger smile on your face as they will both be epic drives. I already know where my smile is gonna come from.........
The Speciale is doing well against a reasonable original price - it was far from 100K more expensive than the regular 458. Now the Pista is more than 100K more than the 488 GTB, so it may have a tougher job at keeping this value.
In the US, the Speciale was around $70k more than the base price of an Italia. The 488GTB is about $20k more than the Italia was. If you add $70k to the 488GTB's base price get about $325k for the Pista. That would be in line with the speculation. Of course we don't know, but on this information it doesn't seem like it's really out of line.
In France the Speciale was €35K ($43K at today's rate, don't know what it was then) more than the Italia (comparing base prices) while the Pista is at least €66K more than the GTB (€92K if the carbon pack is mandatory) - so $82K or $113K at current exchange rate.
Best to ask your dealer to share the upcoming pipeline with you but it has been widely discussed in various threads on this forum.
Was hoping for an actual answer, not a pass off. Your comment seemed authoritative as if you has actual information. I did ask my dealer and he is unaware of it. Even the spider has not yet been officallly acknowledged, let alone announced, so difficult to see an LE, in a crystal ball, so was hoping you could enlighten us as to the source of your information
The L The LE version is a special Tailor Made version of the pista for a limited number of Challenge owners. Ferrari Tailor Made is currently working in this. My guess is it will have special paint and stripe and interior features. It would be great if it included the GT3 mirrors but I think that’s not likely as They wouldn’t do that for regular Tailor Made customers.
https://www.fcagroup.com/capitalmarketsday/Presentations/FCA%20June%201%202018%20CMD_Alfa%20Romeo%20Brand.pdf New mid-engine hybrid and all wheel drive Alfa Romeo 8C is coming. A hint also for the 488 replacement?
Since the V6 twin turbo is already at 500 hp and established in the range the implication has to be that the new 8C will use that plus electric to get to '700+ combined' Now where it might get interesting is if they use the same tub (eg Enzo/MC12) for the 488 replacement - the catch is the timeframe unless you view the new 8C as borrowing the next Ferrari's chassis and powertrain which has to be a possibility - reversing that sequence would see the 488 replacement post-2022 which seems unlikely So look out next year for a 750 hp carbon tub hybrid V6TT 488 replacement perhaps
488 replacement won't use the actual 510 hp V6 TT engine (that is the 488 engine cut by two cylinders). There is an all new V6TT with a different bank angle (and rumors say with much more power) that will be combined with an hybrid layout, exactly like the kind that Marchionne stated. All things I already knew: What I didn't knew is that there will be an Alfa Romeo version of that car as Marchionne told yesterday Ciao
