George this cycle is exactly on track. I haven't seen anything to say otherwise. By memory 360 1999 to 2004 , 430 2005-2009, 458 2010 to 2015, 488 2015-2020 with track oriented models in the last year. New car next year on schedule and no proof it's only going to be built for 2 years. Other then introducing a high spec. new model above 488 I don't see where the product cycle changed BB is a new model. 488 replacement in 2021 with Pista version in 2024 would be the norm. with refresh in 2024/25 putting ferrari exactly on track. I hope you're right bc I'd be able to get a new model car quicker then every 5 years.

If you are lucky enough you could see the very first "488 Facelift" Spider finished in a very unusual color around some specific stations at the normal production line.

Perhaps I misunderstood...I thought you meant that the facelifted car we’ll see in March will last until 2024/5...I agree new 488 next year and next one in 2024/25...Sorry!

Do we need yet another new thread for this car which is not one that has recently been discussed for announcement this year as far as I recall !

If the F142 platform can't have a hybrid powertrain and Ferrari wants to have a full hybrid lineup by 2021 in that segment, then the FL can't survive for much time..

It seems that no matter what the outcome, any announcement of a replacement/facelift/upgrade for the 488 will impact current model desirability, values and sales. Case in point, my local dealer has new builds available for sale without names attached.

New models always impact the previous models desirability. F140C Exactly why I don’t think there will be an Fl interim model. I’m betting we’ll get to see the new replacement model in March.

I think that if they had been able to deliver two hybrid products (F173 and Big Brother) in 2019, then they would have simply said so in September. Instead they're planning to get there by 2021 and in the meantime the "F142M-FL" coupé and spider models will fill the 2-years gap.

Why is V8TT hybrid considered Big Brother, and not a continuation of the V8 mid engine Ferrari line up? And the V6TT not considered a “Little brother” aka the Dino (V6) Model everybody has been talking about? Makes perfect sense. If the V8 is being continued, then it just a continuation of the V8 cars, but the V6TT/hybrid will come under it.

And as far as the HP, how much will that V6TT be putting out, and will this car and or engine be related to the Alfa that FCA said was coming out?

It's more a question of product positioning rather than the actual number of cylinders.

If Porsche can survive the Cayenne, Ferrari can survive a few more sales.

IBM does not manufacture computers. If you are talking mainframes then yes no one can topple IBM

I can’t tell your age from your profile, but I’ve been working in InfoTech for 35 years. If you don’t think IBM manufacturers computers (except mainframes), you’re clearly not old enough to remember the first PC’s - starting with the IBM XT in 1983 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Personal_Computer_XT)

In the ‘80’s and early ‘90’s IBM was the undisputed king of hardware, and the saying in business was, “nobody ever got fired for buying IBM”. The mighty has fallen a long way since then, and look at where Apple is now by comparison.

If Ferrari misread their market and lose touch with what their customers really want and what makes their brand special, they can easily lose their leadership. Never say never.

Oh my word. Given ferr9000's previous accuracy with all things Ferrari, this is basically gospel here on the forums (at least to me and a few others)... if anyone pops by Maranello before March, give us an insight on the styling... as Bugatti showed with the Divo, a new design often leads to very polarizing opinions!

I think u misread my comment - Today IBM only play in the mainframe space. BTW: I wish I was not old enough to remember XT and AT computers and worked with them from the beginning. IBM are a monopoly in the mainframe space but they need to watch the Quantum computing space as the competition is intense.

So back to Ferrari and like any company they can make bad decisions and lose market share - however unfortunately with EV just about mandated going forward decisions are bing made for them which adds even further complications

The classic car bubble is ridiculous. Much of it has to do with investing, money laundering and bypassing capital controls (especially for Chinese buyers). Same as with actual art. Enzo, who famously shunned older cars, would be very amused...

"Attendance to quality meetings at customer site to discuss quality improvement projects and development scenario for prototype programmes (F142M FL / F173 dashboards and door panels)."

Could it mean that 488FL and its successor will share those components?

We are pleased with this assignment and could not be otherwise seen that we have strongly sought it. But we are metalworkers and now that we have completed the shed, we are only interested in starting to work on production. "
Giampiero Fedele, managing director of Lasim, Comments (from leccesette.it as the photo) what is expected: to realize the frames of the Ferrari Portofino and F173. About sixty components to be realized and assembled for each of the red. Production that will take place in three establishments of which one, from five thousand square meters, just completed.
