For other people interested in this problem, this is all correct.

Why? Did you put them back again? Did you fit new parts? The ECU might need vehicle speed data (from the ABS system). Also, the ECU won't like having no cat temperature data. I can't say if it will stop the engine running. I haven't tried it.

P0600 is communication between the Left & Right Motronic ECUs.

I was going to suggest looking at plug 176, which is between the Left and Right ECUs, but the strange behaviour when you cycle the ignition key doesn't make me think it's a wiring problem.

For info, plug 176 is found in the engine wiring diagrams:

    Right:

Also for info, the plug is at the back of the engine (upper half) near the firewall and is quite hard to get to. I know the Ferrari 456 has a problem with plugs in this area, but they are a circular twist type, not a rectangular, clip type.

Did the people who checked your ECUs check the CAN Bus circuits (for inter-ECU communications)?

Does this vehicle utilize a digital ignition key?

No, just a key fob that disarms the alarm and immobilizer. Key is dumb.

SOUNDS LIKE SHE NEEDS A NEW BATTERY.
