Just saw a running, no accident car sell for under $50k. Had some silly bodykit but still, WOW.
Where did it sell for 50k and why aren’t you a proud new owner. Post a link. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LMAO, well if that's the case there should be many more available for 50k, let me know where I can pick a few up.
It must have been horrible for those of you that purchased these 550s new at more than a quarter million dollars to have them depreciate to $60k, that’s a huge hit. At least they have gone up a little but still nowhere near there value.
Yes but it also means you have had twenty years of pleasure for ten thousand bucks a year depreciation which is actually good value
Don’t believe that italian trash poster...he is a troll and has been banned from a few threads already... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm sure a body kit wasn't a cheap way to fix a damaged car. The cheapest one to sell on BaT in the past few months (with reasonable mileage) was $130k. One sold for $80k that had 67k miles on it...although still a nice driver quality car. The other two sold for above $150k. If you passed on even a half decent 550 for $50k I think you just missed the deal of a lifetime.
550 are on the way up. Low production number, V12, gated. If you have one, hold on to it because it is going up, up, up. $50k? Sounds doubtful.
Hagerty valuations put the 550 Maranello at 140-170K depending on the condition. Last of a breed from Ferrari. Front engine 12 cylinder 4 cam with a gated shifter and an alloy body. Get one while you still can. Just sayin....
Very little seems to be selling in the UK, 550's or 575's but as mentioned numerous times, we're kind of a market in our own right being RHD and in some sort of interest rate vacuum with the looming unknown of BREXIT on the horizon. Actually the entire car market here seems to have gone soft. The issue is most 550/575's being advertised here are on consignment with the owners naming the price. They are still clinging to the price bubble's that occurred in 2016/17 and seem unwilling to drop to levels at which transactions will take place. Things always find their price point, it's just a matter of time.
It could be possible. I just went to go see a 550 in Canada which the owner wanted $100k, car was so disappointing and total dud, shocking to think the owner could justify that price in the condition the car was. I wonder who is buying 550’s, a millennial wont see the value and any other younger generation wont be able to drive a stick. Also takes a special person to really respect the 550 to give it the maintenance and upkeep it deserves.
All I can say is WHO GIVES A %#*K?? Go get a hobby, man! I’d dare to say most of us here aren’t really concerned if the cars are worth a nickel when we’re done with ‘em. Can we hope they’re worth more? Sure, but it’s a car, so...It’s called being an enthusiast which, by the way, is a much more productive and rewarding endeavor than being a forum troll. PS - apologies to the group for the outburst. These incessant value threads are just starting to irritate me.
People owning a car overvalue it (in the hope to sell it with a profit, or just to inflate their impression of wealth), while people not owning one undervalue it (in the hope of decreasing the market value for a future purchase, or just to minimise other's wealth...) All seems a bit childish to me, while sometimes a real attempt as assessing market trends might be interesting.
Someone needs to start a 550 MARKET THREAD. Robb did it in 355 section and it worked well to keep every thread from turning into “how much their car is worth” thread. If you want to tune in you can... if you don’t want to, you don’t. Perfect. Anyone want to start it?
Not sure how believable the post is unless it is a salvage title car, lots of other things can cause salvage title other than an accident - flood, fire, theft. OP doesn't sight his source of the sale so just saying, hmmmmmmm.
I don’t have cash but I would (have cash) for a Maranello at 50k!! Heck I’ll even go up to 60k (sorry fbb!!).
Some cars are keepers. Most 550's aren't for sale, the owners are having too much fun with them still. .
