    Bill- The 550 engine mounts are a known weak area, as are the plenum hoses under the intake manifold. Replacing both (actually the motor mounts and three plenum hoses) with 575M parts solves both problems. Or buy a 575M and do not worry about either.

    The other 550 weak point is the Bilstein shocks and shock actuators. The 575M changed to bullet-proof Mannesmann-Sachs shocks and actuators.

    You would have to ask one of the pros whether $1500 was too much. Judging from the whiny post, I would imagine he had a 15K service and the motor mounts done and the total was $1500 and he was still grumbling. Should have bought a Porsche, probably, if a $1500 service bill bothered him that much.
