    Picked up a 'star' today from some projectile - fortunately in the lower left corner. I'll have the star attended to in the hopes of preventing it from spreading, but should the windshield have to be replaced, anyone know how difficult this is. Ferrari dealer only, or is it straightforward enough that a good glass shop can do this? Thanks!

    How big is the star? If half an inch or so then just get a windshield repair kit ($10), they work pretty good.
    Replacement glass is hard to find ($1500), and its best to replace the surround and rubbers ($700). Plus you need an experienced glass technician ($300-500) else the new glass can crack.

    hi

    I've had two 'stars' fixed in the past six months... just unluck with stones.
    Given the cost and expertise required for a windshield replacement, i will jsut keep on fixing them until the windshield can not be fixed anymore.

    FYI I guess when fixed the chip is 'stabilized' so no need to worry about it anymore.
