Very pretty 03 Euro 575M in Grigio Ingrid with Beige interior, 131553 AN 48676. Carbon fiber package, FHP, HiFi, GPS, color stitching, etc, which you can see on the option sheet the owner kindly provided. Note that this 575M and 131554 have consecutive serial numbers and assembly numbers, which is very rare. EN above is engine number.

Rust on the rotors means it is good she has a new loving owner who will drive her often.

Hi Terry and everyone, please forgive me for asking a potentially ignorant question, but was FHP available on 2005 cars? Or were "normal" cars FHPed by 2005 or post AN 55769?
    Cheers,
    Chris

Owning a Nero interior and after seeing the Nero interior above in post 806 I feel compelled to comment. Nero is very hard to photograph properly and always seems to appear very gray and washed out in most pics. For those that haven't seen one in person they are more attractive in person than usually exhibited on the Net. Have attached a pic robbed off the Net that better captures the true atmosphere of Nero, in this case maybe just a shade glossy.

Bill- Affirmative, Charcoal is the same way. Many photos look like the leather is rental car gray, even though it is actually more light black.

Chris- Late 575Ms came with half a set of the same shocks that went on the HGTC 575Ms, but none of the other FHP or HGTC components were ever standard, regardless of year built.

Boardwalk has a very nice O3 F1 575M, SN 133419, AN 50619 with only ~9000 miles. Rosso Corsa with Beige Daytonas and rear shelf, modulars, shields, and red calipers. A resale 575M if I have ever seen one with all the most wanted options. Need to ask them for a build sheet so we can see if they have anything else on her. Unusually, the rear bulkhead has also been done in beige leather. Another of those unwritten options like the leather covered console, which she also has.

When you talk about late 575's Terry do you mean 03 and 04's or just 04's?

Clyde- 575Ms with assembly number of 52556 or lhigher are what I consider late. That assemly number was assigned sometime in Nov/Dec 2003.

In this particular case, those shocks were used on even later 575Ms, with assembly numbers of 55769 or greater, built in CY 2004.

    Taz, question for you:
If you were looking to purchase a "late model" 575 (because you want updated equipment) would you consider cars with AM 52556 or later -OR - hold out for a car with AM 55769 or later?

I've read and reread the technical thread and the description of parts updated, but being a novice I can't tell HOW important some of the updates are.

Thanks for giving me your opinion!

Allen- There are not that many 575Ms with AN later than 55679 (around Summer/Fall 2004), and way more 575Ms earlier than AN 52556 than after. I would just get the best 575M I could find, regardless of year. For me, the value of the steering position sensor 575Ms is probably around $5-10K, and no clue how to value the last major upgrade.

Thank you for your reply. In layman terms, would you please describe the steering position sensor change? How is the driving / handling / performance difference with the steering position sensor upgrade?

Finally, I have a couple of specific questions regarding parts with AN 52556 (or higher):

    1) Front Shock Absorber (part number 217735/53) and Rear Shock Absorber (pn 205290/55) can be installed as stand alone parts, correct? Is it correct that these shocks are the SAME shocks in the HGTC package? How would you describe the difference in these shocks, more firm?

    2) Why were following parts updated twice between AN 52556 and AN 55679? And how are they different? Are both upgraded parts better / superior to the original parts?
    - F1 Motronic ECUX2 (from pn 202757/15 to 211423/15)
    - Manual Motronic ECUx2 (from pn 202756/15 to 211422/15)
    - Shock Absorber ECU (from pn 202954/134 to 210577/134)

Thank you so much for taking time to explain your understand of the above questions. Please remember in your response that I'm not a mechanic - so please respond in simple terms.

Thanks, you guys are the BEST!

Allen- Have you read the 575 Technical Thread, which actually has the steering position sensor technical bulletin and the HGTC bulletin with all the parts numbers? Read those and see if you still have questions.

Motronic ECUs were updated regularly during production for various reasons. The first one at 52556 was to incorporate the steering position sensor inputs into the Motronic DMEs and the shock absorber ECU. Also required new wiring harnesses front and rear. While they were at it, the new F1 wiring harness incorporated a new connector for the new 50 amp F1 pump relay. Most explained in the 575 update document.

Hi, yes I've read the entire 575 Technical Tread several times. I've also read and reread the technical bulletins. None of the parts list or bulletins address anything but very technical issues.

What I'm hoping is that someone on here can say "the steering sensor addition makes the car handle better and ...." or "the shock absorber ECU really changes how shocks take bumps it makes the car more solid and less floaty". Perhaps a part was updated only because the replacement lasts longer - something like that.

I really want to know what these improvements do for the 575M so I can decide if I want to purchase a car with those updates or to upgrade the car I purchase.

    Thanks you for understanding.

Allen- In layman's terms, which is what I am, the steering position sensor sends data to the shock ECU to stiffen the outside shocks for a turn. On the 575M, Ferrari had a much more sophisticated set of accelerometers than on the 550 and 456/456M, which do have steering position sensors. The theory was the accelerometers could do the same job as the steering position sensor while also providing better control of dive and nose rise under braking and acceleration. Trouble is, accelerometers lag, so on the turns, the data was getting to the shock ECU too late. So they added back in the steering position sensor. What you will feel is less tendency to roll and sharper response as you turn into a corner. Very valuable and that, plus the 50 amp F1 pump relay, is what would be worth $5-10K to me.

More later. Time for a beer.

Very pretty 04 Euro F1 575M in a Maserati color, Grigio Nuvolari, brought to my attention by a European friend. Color similar to Grigio Ingrid, but a bit darker. We have the option sheet from MODIS on this one, so lots of info. Thought to possibly be in Switzerland now, with a few minor details that needed attention when our friend considered it.

Note the paint decal, which obviously had Grigio Nuvolari added to a blank paint decal. Beautiful color similar to the one on the Dinos and Daytonas in the 70s.
