Ok - this is why these people are great! I’m browsing because I’m two months into my 575M and fixing a few things - the gas cap tether is broken and WAY down my list - but I just bought the part Alan recommended and - it’s weird - but I can’t wait to get it.
Even though I assume the most recent SN/AN list from back then not to be up-to-date, here is something I'd like to add nonetheless...though it may already be known?! No information regarding Standard/FHP/HGTC available. Numbers are from first-hand documents. 575M Maranello F1: 127928 / B / 45210 129987 / B / 47178 131317 / C / 48575 132172 / B / 49396 132567 / B / 49799 135444 / B / 52575 135653 / B / 52800 136438 / J / 53859 136443 / J / 53941 137327 / B / 55066 138342 / B / 55570 138759 / B / 55965 139101 / C / 56226
Not really. Whole purpose was to give me data for the changes document. Once I finished that, I was pretty much done.
Right hand drive 575M built in November 2003 just after a major update was made at AN 52556. Should have Assembly Number 528xx.
Is it possible to track a vehicles dealer history in the UK? Would love to find out some more information about it. (Didn't receive books with it, the car is now in Oz).
Greg C is a UK car at a certain time point, but Maranello Concessionaires had the world RHD concession for quite a while and they were all Cs then. Changed sometime before 2004 when Penske bought them out and they started designating Ferraris with country codes like D for Australia. Do you know when they started with the D Ferraris?
Hi Terry, my Australian delivered 1984 Mondial QV has a "D" in the chassis number but not sure how much earlier the D designation began
Hi Terry, all. Trusting you are all well. Back on line after a few years! Still in Hong Kong and still got the SuperAmerica, now 17 years old and still going well with very few and all minor poblems over the years. I can confirm my (Hong Kong original dealer from new) SA is RHD and with a C in the VIN. Indeed I am sure you have my car on your SN/AN list. This confirms your point about RHD cars, at least for UK and HK.
Paul- Thanks, I was not sure which countries were being provided C VIN Ferraris. At one point I think it also included South Africa. Glad to hear the SA is still doing well. Not sure what life is like in HK now that the mainland owns it. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Hi all, Started a vlog on the rebuild of the 575M. For anyone interested: Any comments and thoughts welcome!
Thanks Terry. Life is fine here in HK (apart from a couple of recent typhoons and flooding, but we thankfully unaffected). Dont read too much into the western media.
133420 new to own. Please bear with me, I’ve never been as intimidated and excited about owning one of these.
Welcome to our subforum! I presume #133420 is a 575M Maranello? Don’t be too intimidated. While certainly more complex than a Ferrari from the 70’s or 80’s, these 575’s are still relatively easy to understand. The guys on this subforum have seen every problem you’re likely to encounter so don’t be shy about asking lots of questions…we have the answers. Also, try to get your hands on a 575 Workshop Manual (it’s about 1,500 pages!). And be careful driving the beast…make sure your tires are fresh and properly inflated and don’t mash the throttle until the car is pointed straight ahead! Good luck! Alan N.J.
Welcome, I'm not the newest 575M guy anymore (130062) - 17 months and 9,000 miles later. Don't be afraid to drive it - mine goes out almost everyday - and might be the only Ferrari with ample trunk room for my golf clubs, shoes etc. Jerry Napa, CA
Hey! yes a 2003 575M F1 7700 miles Grigio Ingrid with tan interior and full tan dash. I do plan on using the car. Molte gratzie to the 10 previous owners who chose to save it for me. I picked it up in Florida and am taking it home in a couple of weeks to the motor city. Would love to drive it home though upon seeing the contorted facial expressions of a friend I have chosen not to. Getting it serviced here now as there are a few quality independent shops who are experienced. Not so much in my neighborhood unless you have a 57 Chevy. As my only mechanical aptitude is writing checks, I’m hearing from others to think in terms of units (1 = $1,000.00) when getting repairs done. Just an observation with no judgement is that there seems to be a masochistic glee among Ferrari friends when talking about the quantity of units these cars will consume. Again, just an observation, no judgement.. I own a couple of relatively bullet proof cars (think German) so am starting to prep myself for what’s potentially to come. I am already grateful to this community for insights and guidance. I see that the knowledge base is extensive. Appreciate the kind welcome! Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you get it serviced - by all means drive it home. I drove mine from San Diego to Napa the day I bought it - up hwy 1 and it was a total blast. Fresh fluids, belts and good tires - they are meant to travel.
