Ivo- Will add the other numbers asap. Many thanks. Do you know what country they were for and what kind of transmission they used? The SNs and Assembly Numbers for these three cars really demonstrate how out of order the serial numbers were on the assembly line.

I cannot find any reference to the brake pedal change. There was only one brake pedal assembly listed for manual transmission cars and one for F1 cars. Seems like that change would have made it more difficult to heel and toe if for manual transmission cars.

Did the change affect manual shifter pedals, F1 shifter pedals, or both? Will look through my tech bulletins and see if I can find anything.

Is it possible they just moved the pedal over to a different set of holes instead of changing the pedal assembly?

yea, those pedals are made for that adjustment. First 550 I ever test drove had been rigged so the peddles were close, I have big feet and kept hitting both at the same time. Maybe the F1 was set up different because no heel toe needed.

Rob, fou- Could be, because there are no different parts I can see.

I looked in the WSM and there are no adjustments on the pedal board for the pedal assemblies for the brake and clutch pedal assemblies. Both attach using four threaded holes in the pedal board.

The brake perforated pedal (brake pedal drilled plate according to Ferrari) itself can be moved simply by removing two machine screws, moving the pedal one set of holes to the left, and replacing the machine screws.

Maybe a bunch of people had big feet and complained. The WSM, written using 575M SN 125381, Assembly Number 431XX as near as I can tell, shows the drilled pedal plate right hand machine screw in the second column of holes from the right. The change would attach the brake pedal using the far right hand column of holes for that screw. If anyone has a manual 2004 or 2005 575M (after Assembly Number 50297) and will check, we can confirm, but that pretty much has to be what they did.

Have to figure out how to annotate that one. Should be possible. For my size 9s, either column of holes would work.

My guess is that you could have the pedals fit to your specifications at pick up. I did not buy my car new, but I am more than confident that if I were to pick up a new 260K car, the dealership would be more than happy to adjust the placement upon request. It takes what? five minutes to move?

Thanks, Terry...! Red with charcoal leather, last seen in Italy four years ago.

Ivo, can you tell us more about these cars...?

Terry, this is what I know about the three cars Ivo listed:

130815: F1, 2003 US car, Grigio Ingrid with Sabbia/tan/cream (those are all colors with which the car has been listed). Back on 30 August 2007, the new owner of this car picked it up at Lamborghini of Houston, stopped at a friend's house on the way home and found over a gram of coke in the little cubby hole behind the driver's seat.

    130816: 2003 US car, manual.

    130819: 2003 US car.

Also, thanks to a very informative PM, you can add this car to the list: ZFFBT55C000132936, 575M F1 RHD, assembly number 50131, red/tan.

Here are the latest iterations with Ivo's and Carbon's changes in bold for VINs/Assembly Numbers. The upgrades list is updated to reflect moving the brake pedal drilled pad/plate one set of holes to the left beginning with Assembly Number 50297.

Next: Radiator issue tech bulletin for late MY 2004/early MY 2005 575Ms.

There is a possibility the electric radiator fan blades can come into contact with their shrouds after sustained high speed use for 575Ms between SN 137514, Assembly Number 55063, and SN 138999, Assembly Number 56292. This technical bulletin explains how to check if that problem exists and how to correct it.

Taz, I told you I would keep my eyes out for you. Here is a 550 in St. Tropez this afternoon. #110980 Rubio ? with creme and red carpets. I saw another Black one, yet he was passing me and could not get the Serial for you. I got passed by an F50 as well as a Porsche 959 the other day. A California came up behind, then beside me on the road today. It looks good in person. Black on Black. In the rear view it looked a little like a Jag at first. They are all over the place, and often do not want to just walk up and start writing down serial numbers. Kinda creepy if you ask me.

Thanks to Henry and Rick at Sports Car Company, here are an early US 575M, 127769, Assembly # 44905, and the SCC's black HGTC, since sold, 140945, Assembly # 58490 with all the 575M updates. Also researched and found 128288 is a US spec car. Still not sure about 129818.

Yea, after I sent that I remembered you wanted 575s. Sorry about that. I have yet to see a 575, too many 360s and 430 to even mention. My hotel last week had a 360 spider for rent by the hour. I will focus on 575s for the rest of the trip.

Not really sure where to put this, and do not want to start another thread, but only you guys can appreciate this.

I saw today what has to be the most worn out looking, well used 550 on the planet. I could kick myself for not having a camera, but envision this: Rosa/black, dash so stretched out I thought the instrument pod was going to deteriorate. Parked in 86 degree beach parking lot with one window cracked open, no sun shade, fast food trash and empty CD cases strewn about. A worn out beach towel and wet bathing suit on the passenger seat. Bumper had been re-sprayed, but in an off red orange tint not matching the car. The air dam was silver, not painted, but worn that way. A huge gash down the passenger door that looked as if keyed by an ex girlfriend, or had hit a parking meter, bald rear tires, and a parking ticket under the windshield.

Got to love, in a weird way, someone who drives their 550 like a Honda. :)

Ketel, want me to inquire as to the price if I see it there tomorrow?
