Robin, my understanding now is that there is a 3d printed plastic bushing in the tower that is not responding well to the heat from the exhaust. I had a bushing fail on my gated 360. It seems this was common on the manual 360s

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/360-shifter-bushing-repair.249934/

However, even when the bushing completely failed, I didn't have the resonance/vibration that I do in the 575. Still awaiting resolution from EAG on this.

The bushing on the 360 wears and makes the gearstick feel loose. That’s just through friction through as it’s all inside the car. On the 575, the exhaust is quite close, but it’s behind an upper and a lower heat shield, and then the turret should be sealed itself from dust, which should further protect it. All depends on what they’ve used, but clearly you need to use fairly high temp plastics to resist the heat.

The turret and shift gate do get hot to the touch. I am not sure what sort of insulation, if any, is currently installed. In the repair kit (for the resonance), EAG indicated that they would be sending me some insulating tape to wrap the section of the exhaust near the shift turret along with a new bushing and brass bearing.

In my ongoing pursuit of motoring perfection (thanks Joe) and based upon recommendations from @360trev and @tazandjan, I have a set of Supersprint exhaust connecting pipes ordered to round out the Fabio exhaust system. A week from today, I'll be taking the car for its first visit to a shop other than EAG since I've owned it. Other than a multipoint inspection, I hope to have the MSW Sway bar, Steering ECU, Supersprint pipes, and fingers crossed…EAG repair kit installed. Wishful thinking on the two latter items as I just ordered the SuperSprint pipes yesterday and I don’t have an ETA on the EAG repair kit yet.

Car is in the shop now being fitted with the EAG repair kit. Hoping this resolves the resonance/vibration issues…

interesting timing… @458Lvr (I think that’s Normal Guy Dan) posted a cool video on adjusting the 575 shift linkage.

Also interesting, he's said on here that he is no longer associated with EAG

Honestly, if OEM parts aren’t used, I can only see headaches with these conversions…..

About the shifter adjustment, unless the EAG kit is different from the OEM parts, that is not where you adjust the shifter, at least that's now where I adjust it on my 550. There is a coupling farther forward with 2 pinch bolts that you can use to make shifter adjustments.

I test drove a swapped manual trans and it didn’t feel right, definitely not the same crisp smooth way that the original factory manual transmission felt, it really was a day and night, I’m going to stick with a 550

I will say, everyone that drives mine seems to want to buy a 575. Gated, Fabio Exhaust, Trev Tune, MSW bits…magical combo

After driving my 575 in manual today, I had the opportunity to drive a 599 GTB owned by a member here in converted OEM style manual and it was absolutely off the charts and perfect in every way!

The car free revs like my 992 GT3 and the whole package was just brilliant.

Needless to say my 599 is now headed over to go get the manual conversion.

Are you using factory parts or EAG aftermarket parts?

As for the 575, using all OEM parts takes away the any questions or doubts about proper OEM style working and feel.

It's a combination of OEM and EAG reproduction of OEM.

Hello everyone, I wanted to take some time to update everyone on my car and also shed some additional light on the EAG situation. As a customer of EAGs, for over two years, I had my suspicions as to what was going on over there. Some of the things that I have learned could make for the premise of a Hollywood blockbuster. The stories I hear are somehow both not surprising and totally unbelievable!

First, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to John Henkel and his company Macchina Motorwerx (MMW) for supporting me (and my car) through this process. John is running MMW, and while working with EAG, he was responsible for making sure my car was delivered back to me.

I’d also like to thank my friend James LaPorte, owner of Apex Motorsports in Buffalo Grove IL. James has been working with John and MMW to fine tune the conversion. James graciously hosted MMW techs into his shop this week.

Finally, I’d like to thank Billy and Mike. John asked Billy and Mike, two of the technicians that left EAG for MMW, to come to Chicagoland to finish the conversion properly. Mike and Billy left their families for the week to work on the car at Apex while staying at my home.

I feel extremely fortunate that this team has gone above and beyond in their support of getting this project across the finish line!

By spending quality time with Billy and Mike, I learned of some fascinating stories. Most importantly for the purposes of this thread and subject matter…these two technicians are best friends, business partners (owned and operated their own shop) and were directly responsible for getting over 45 back logged Ferrari’s out of the door at EAG over the year that they spent with that company. I’m encouraging them to tell their story on a podcast or to a screenwriter, because, as I mentioned, it is somehow both unbelievable, and not surprising. As those are their stories to tell, I’m not going to get into it…but I can say that they do have some amazing records and photos to support their story. It’s really incredible.

Now for great news…I took the finished car home last night and it is dialed in! I will share videos as the weather improves, But the modifications that MMW has made to the kit seem to have completely eliminated the vibration issues that I was experiencing. What an amazing journey this has been..and what an amazing car I have! I feel so fortunate!!
