It wouldn’t fit thru the drive thru tree! Massaging ventilated seats are pretty nice. View attachment 6641859
I have to admit that is the first electric vehicle I’ve looked at and thought, “maybe I could do that”. OK well, maybe a Taycan…anyway, how do you like it?! What’s the range like?
We did a 1k mile roundtrip road trip in the VW during 4th of July weekend and it was nice and comfy. We have done I think 5 road trips in the Ford Lightning over 1,600 miles. VW range is over 200 Lightning is just over 300 But interstate speeds with AC on doesn’t help. VW will be day trips only and it’s rare for us to locally do more than 150 miles in a day so for the wife it’s perfect. we only get 30k miles for 36 months on the lease but the upfront immediate $7500 EV credit was great. I put another $30k down (that’s the max they would allow). VW finance wants the embedded 6.2% interest of course.
Was it the height or width? Compared to our Odyssey, it is 5" taller, 1" narrower, and 10" shorter, with a 10" longer wheelbase. It looked way bigger to my wife which she didn't like.. I think it's boxier giving that illusion.
In the last two months we've done 1800, 1200, and 700 mi round trips, probably that range would not have been great, especially the trip we were caravaning to a scout trip with 6 other vehicles. We didn't even do our 3000+ mi trip to MSP this summer. But sounds like around town and shorter trips it'd be great.
Yeah I absolutely would not routinely road trip any electric vehicle more than maybe 400-ish miles a day ….not that you can’t but it’s just a lot of extra time hanging out charging. This weekend we will drive south 250 miles…charge while eating lunch then have enough to do another 200 to the hotel….charge over night then “rinse and repeat”.
Car was delivered a week ago. Registered and plated same day, and passed state inspection/emissions yesterday. Couldn’t be happier with the car so far. Dan did all of the hard work, so my plan is to just enjoy it for the next few months. Only exceptions being new tint all around (including windshield) given all of the recent leather work and exterior windshield film to protect the oem glass. Come winter will likely due a bumper respray, paint correction, and a full wrap/ceramic coating. Not looking for perfect cosmetics, but maximize what I have to work with and ease of ongoing maintenance with the wrap/coating.
Thanks so much for the update. Since this car is so special it would be neat to start a thread like Niftyfivefifty and @white out and @Aerosurfer and others have so we can follow along with any adventures. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/adventures-of-a-95-verde-mugello-gt.654022/ For more than a few of us your new car represents "one that got away". Enjoy and thanks again -- Eric
