599 air bag question for toddler seat?

    Hi on a 07 599 does it have a switch using a key to disarm The passenger airbag for a toddler seat? Thanks

    Check with Ferrari, but the 599 should have a weight sensor for each seat that keeps the airbag from inflating with less than 80 lbs in the seat.

    On the 575M, that was not true, and the Europeans had an option for a shut-off for the passenger airbag. At least one American owner retrofitted a switch into his 575M.

    The owners manual details a process for turning off the passenger airbag when a child seat is to be used.

    You can usually buy a 599 OM CD on E-Bay for about $15. I would definitely want one if I were considering a 599.

    OK, I looked it up in my manual. Rest of the world (ROW) vehicles have a key switch on the passenger side dash (open the door to see). Most of the online owners manuals are ROW.

    US and CDN vehicles turn off the air bag based on weight (Obviously they don't trust us with making that decision.) Overhead "airbag off" light should come on. You need to install the child seat with ignition key in "0" position or the airbag may stay active.
