Mine were 245 front I believe factory. I still have all these tyres actually as well as the HGTE wheels ...
Hi Fernando I believe, not really softer. But i don't know. Drove the car in Oktober with Original height. Then, in April, the car was brought to the dealer with a trailer because of an oil leak. They fixed the oil leak and lowered the car. Daniel
Daniel- One thing that might interest you is that the F12 has the same size wheels as the 599 GTO, and OEM tire sizes are 255/35 20 and 315/35 20.
Right, as recently discovered. I'm really a little gun shy of spacers because of what it does to the suspension. Am I correct in assuming that the suspension in the GTO and HGTE are similar to the standard 599? In other words, are wider wheels better than standard wheels with spacers???
George- Affirmative, but you might need spacers on wider wheels, too, depending on offsets. The GTO and HGTE had stiffer springs and anti-roll bars than the std 599, plus shock/body ECUs to match. On the HGTE, it was only the rear bar, not sure about the GTO since I have not researched that.
Thanks Terry Good to know about the F12 So, perhaps I go with the 255 and 315 I have. Tires and TPMS are nearly new, perhaps 3000 Km on them. I will think about until April. Daniel
Reviving an old thread here. Just lowered the car to lowest setting in front (perch nut to sway bar) and rear to match wheel gap. I have just purchased a pair of HE 15mm spacers to fill the gap. I am thinking of bucking the trend and placing 20mm in the front and 15mm in the rear. From my perspective, visually, the front is where the larger spacer should go. Is this idea problematic for handling or alignment? Option 2 is to go 15mm all around.
I just read this whole thread and I am a little confused as to what spacers to order for my 599 GTB HGTE. I just saw a 575 with 25mm on the rear and 15mm on the front and the car was so perfect in it’s stance. So to me that was an easy decision on the ordering front. For the 599 I was thinking 20mm at the rear and 15mm at the front. Any thoughts? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You will need longer bolts with those spacers. The reason we use 25 mm on the rears for 575Ms is you can get Type 2 spacers from Hill that bolt to the hub and use the original wheel bolts. Since I have titanium bolts....
With 22mm type 2 at the front and 25mm type 2 at the rear you can use stock bolts. 22mm is minimum, the original 52mm bolts are about 21,5mm outside behind the rim hub surface. See my older post in this thread how it looks. I had 255/35 at the front and 315/35 at the rear. Works perfect. Capristo has spacers in 14mm and 17mm included longer titanium wheel bolts. Not cheap but included titanium bolts. The price is included a certificate which was important for me. Have a set here because i had it on my SF before i installed the Monza rims. Daniel
I was advised by Hill to keep the spaces at 15mm all around, so that is what I did. The back looks great, but I feel the front could use a little more. Again, they advised me not to use larger (20mm) spacers in the front. Why, I don't know. I replaced the supplied longer lugs with titanium lugs from Acer racing to offset some of the spacer weight. They have a set of 20 with 17mm hex heads and at length to work with 15mm-17mm spacers. Overall, I am happy with the look of both the wheel offset and the new lugs.
Thanks Daniel, I am little concerned with how far they stick out. I think that the 599 actually needs the same spacer for front and rear. So I am now thinking 15mm or and most 20mm front and rear. May the Horse be with you
Drivers side is W/O spacers and Passenger is with. This is before installing the titanium lugs. Also, I have also installed H & R sport/lowering springs. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you for posting these photos. Your wheels looks great and you should be happy with the result. Having stated this; It’s amazing with even 15mm spacers how there is still some room to go out further. Perhaps 20mm + 20mm is the magic number. May the Horse be with you
By the way as a reference here are some photos of the 575 that I saw which was perfect! The thicker spacer is for the rear wheel too. This is really strange as I just ordered a set of 20mm all round from Hill and I did this over email. There was no mention not to purchase the 20mm. May the Horse be with you
What they advised against was using the larger 20mm spacers in front and 15mm in the rear. On my gtb the 15mm spacer in the rear is near perfect and I did not want to go further out. The front however I felt would benefit from a thicker spacer. Overall, I am still pleased with the result.
