not the final render but gives you an idea. Image Unavailable, Please Login as far as being a freak- I don’t know. For me I think right now I enjoy their cars the most. Sold my Porsches, sold the Pista. Just have the 2 McLaren’s currently. Will likely sell the 675 when 750 comes but will see. I would not hesitate to get another Ferrari but 296 does not interest me and sf90 I need more wheel time. At the end of the day- just enjoy cars. Will see where the future takes me and my collection.
@SoCal to az That looks absolutely fantastic! Wow! Very nicely done my man Yeah you were one of the first guys on here that got me really to think about McLarens (going back to the 720 vs 488 thread) and now I don’t really know what to get for my first “big” car purchase. I keep going back and forth. There are things I like a lot about both the 720 and the F8.
Both are great cars. You can’t go wrong with either. I think 720 you can probably get a better deal on but F8s coming down also. Just remember- these aren’t forever purchases. You can always upgrade/trade. And if I can make a suggestion- go drive a 765 coupe. Spider will be much more expensive. In my humble opinion, it’s the best car I’ve ever driven. Your decision will be easy if the car is within budget.
Unfortunately, the 765 is out of budget. But man, one day I hope! The 720 and a 488 can be had for similar prices already, and as you say, the 488 seems to be coming down even more. Between those cars, would I be foolish to even consider the 488? It seems like everyone who has driven both (online at least) raves about the 720 more .
I have a 720 Spider, which I love. My dealer told me that I would hate the 765,because I use it as my daily driver. One person's opinion. Joe
I had a 720 and 488 at the same time. 720 was my preference by a mile. Image Unavailable, Please Login
for a daily driver. Yes, the 720 I would argue is probably better than a 765, but honestly it depends on which seats you have. In my 765 I have Senna seats which are not the most comfortable for daily driving getting comfort seats for my 750.
You would not be foolish to consider the 488. 488 is a great car. But my preference was a 720. Test drive them and buy the car you connect with.
I drove the new 750 spider last week I had the first allocation in south Florida for a spider I decided not to take it as it would have required me to sell a car I couldn’t part with Saros gray If anyone is looking for one, I can put you in touch with my sales guy. I don’t believe they’ll be looking for a mark up as I was told mclaren wouldn’t be happy with that Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Wow, it’s beautiful. You spec’d it nicely and it surely looks the part. Reviews have been great, what did they want you to part with that you felt was better if you don’t mind me asking?
My 812 GTS or my pista Not them so much as my wife threatening to kill me if I kept them all Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Look- we are talking nuance here. Would anyone complain if they were handed the keys to a Ferrari? Any Ferrari? Butnif you want to dial in- and go deep on the comparisons- my personal preference is McLaren over a Ferrari. Others will be opposite. No right or wrong here.
I felt the same way until i drove a pista. I felt as dialed in with it as I did in a 720s, although I didn’t spend as much time in the mclaren To me the finish, the details, and the car overall is much higher quality I feel the same about the 750. Car is fast. Like retarded fast. And handling is out of this world. But the details of both my Ferraris and the overall build quality are far superior But with the 750 smoke either of mine even with its top down ?…. Probably. But then my turbo S smokes them all for a mere mortal driving it Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I understand what you’re saying. Even without haven driven one, I get your point. Ultimately, I need to get behind the wheel of both and make the decision. For some reason, I keep trying to make you convince me of one (I do this **** sometimes because I know you have so much experience that I can’t quickly obtain), but in the end there is only one way to find out.
Go to your local dealer and test drive one. Do not buy a car that has been previously tuned or modded. A lot of the horror stories that are out there, many times its cause the car was tuned or modded. Stick with straight factory and you should have minimal issues. Good luck.
I just had a chance to test drive a 750 at my local dealer. They have a demo here from corporate. All I can say is wow. its spectacular. Its similar power to a 750 but much more refined. Build quality was excellent. Power was smooth. Sound system - spectacular. Its a massive step up from a 720 and not as raw as a 765 which may be a good thing depending on what kind of driving you want to do. I was thoroughly impressed and am looking forward to my delivery by end of the year.
I turned down test drives in a California several times…..no interest on any level Watching a Harry Metcalfe video preferring a 720S over a F8 despite a $100k difference is getting me off the anti-McLaren couch for the first time. A $250k 5 year old 720S has to be the best bargain going today.
Mclarens are great to own if you live close to a Mclaren dealership. If you don't, then not so much. But I guess the same would be true of Ferraris, but less so.
We are creatures of our experiences. If your experience with Ferrari has been good, then no need to try anything else. I have enjoyed my McLaren journey and am looking forward to adding my 3rd in the garage. Happy driving no matter what you prefer.
