No doubt market is softening for modern LE's and new cars generally.UK has some specific reasons !
I still think 812 VS will not be a numbered limited edition but more like the V8 Special Series being time limited.

So,812 Monza launched,812 Spider confirmed by the 2 most reliable sources of new model info (one of them confirming something is good enough for me).

TDF replacement feels like it's a couple years out, to be honest, based on when the GTO came out in the 599's lifecycle and the TDF in the F12's lifecycle.

I fear you are probably right.
Recent call seemed to indicate 812 will be replaced 2022 so VS probably announced '21 with deliveries '21 and '22.

Looking at the investor presentation, the concept of limited edition and numbered is less explicit, maybe just for the Icon models, the others are described as special series, limited by time in production. So an 812 spider likely to be in that context.

    Sounds about right.

Out of curiosity, is the rumor that it's going to be called VS? I've also heard MM (Mille Miglia). I've also heard Daytona.

What's the latest / leading rumor?

VS (Versione Speciale) is just the moniker given to the hardcore versions of the production cars.
MM would be great but Ferrari will not have decided on a name yet.

For the 812 VS coupè, seems legit to expect something around 840 PS from the 6.5, 400 kg downforce @ 250 km/h. Weight depends on the Carbon parts, I doubt it will be hybrid, since it's still based on the old platform. Last pure V12 unassisted, it will have a proper name and auperb vehicle dynamics.

To me it seems very unlikely, that this is a 812 VS test mule. The complete chassis is F12 Berlinetta. Even the TDF-style air vents at the rear seem to be just painted. May be it´s some hybrid-testing. For a hybrid the outer shape is quite uninteresting at the first stage. Reliability test of the technical function should be more important. One day we will know.....

Your logic seems the wrong way around. A hybrid needs a new chassis but the 812 and the F12/TDF share the same chassis. This seems very likely to be an 812 VS/TDF - the rear vents may well be there because a similar idea (with different styling) is planned for the 812 VS?

Not just the model name but the whole idea of a new model design. Back in about April of 2010 here I suggested a twin turbo V8 and call it the 488 GTO. The GTO idea came before the 599 got it's controversial GTO moniker. If you will remember Ferrari always looked down their nose at the idea of using a turbo for cheap horsepower because of the turbo lag issue and they were more about building 12 cylinder horsepower. This was after LdM said the 458 Italia was perfect and there would be no performance version for the future like the raw Scuderia built on the 430. Instead the 599 became the GTO and the Italia became the Speciale and there was still no turbo motor for any Ferrari model...

I'd really like to see a small capacity turbocharged V12 in the future - for performance and smoothness it would be the best solution, but not sure about marketing and profit for Ferrari...

Such an engine already exists, in the Aston DBS. Would you rather drive that, instead of a larger N/A, screamer V12?

The turbocharged Aston V12 has a relatively poor specific power, and it's coupled with an automatic gearbox (not a dual clutch). These shortcomings have not much to do with the concept of a turbocharged V12.
I guess it should be possible to deliver about 800hp from a turbocharged 4.5L V12; that would have a significant weight advantage compared to a 6.5L.
And I definitely prefer the 488 engine to the 458's, so I would probably cope with a turbocharged V12 properly designed.
