Voltages seem fine--the light should not be coming on at 14.XV.
Someone *did* say the light comes on with overcharging... that was not my experience. Is 14.XV considered overcharging?
Any other symptoms? (Dim headlights, interior/dash lights dim with blinkers going on, etc.)
The light was allways dim before with the cooler fans and ac on.It now dims at idle and brighten as rpm and battery volts go up.
What turns the light on in the dash.
When the light comes on, it is the start of your alt diods going. Time to get it checked, and if needed rebuilt. Anyone can rebuild it, just taking out is a small labour of love. Mine went, and lasted a month prior to the rebuild.
Pulled it off yesterday and found the end for the main battery wire to the alternator was bad and got hot. It melted the diods. After six hours it's fixed, and after 8 years I still enjoying the drive.
