As far as I understand it, at least based on the Aventador/Sian platform with 112 to be built and all sold already.
I had heard some rumors about this in the past, but thought it was just be a one-off. 112 at $3.5 million seems like a wild expectation.
edited post to clean up HTML text, nothing new here but this is Motor1's article: https://lamborghinichat.com/forum/news/new-lamborghini-countach-actually-happening-teased-in-official-photo.769/
Reading more on it, I'm guessing this is Winkelmann looking to take his launch of the Bugatti Centodieci and "mass-produce" it for Lamborghini looking at the similarities of both cars.
One thing I can say about the leaked images of the Countach so far…. At least they are sticking with a design that is somewhat of an evolution of the original car design. Compare that with the disaster that Maserati did with the Ghibli!!! How could they take one of the most beautiful 2-door cars of the 60’s-70’s and use that name on a smaller version of a Quattroporte? The thing that excites me more about this new Countach is the expectation that its design is really influenced by the original and people like it so in Centro Stile have it in mind for future models...
Me too. A manual would be nice, even if they only made one. I also hope the car is not bloated. The Countach is a tough act to follow. The chance, even remote, of buying a new Countach is pretty cool in itself.
Sneak peak does seem to look good, I really like the no-side mirrors concept It is nice to honor the past, but I would rather see Lamborghini produce a new car with the same ground-breaking impact of the Countach, rather than a re-imagining of the old one.
Just another body kit from Lambo, like most Lamborghini especial series. Image Unavailable, Please Login
