It makes you wonder if the designer of this abortion has ever seen a Counatch before. A first class FAIL 100000% percent as expected

  2. I would have preferred the wheels & naca ducts to have been designed closer to original.

To me. Centro front, Aventador platform and Sian rear. I don't think it's bad looking but I really wish they had not put the Countach name to it. I guess a positive will be the Countach name will be known to new generations.

    My 2 cents:
Almost inspired by a Countach/Murcie union.
Unfortunately he rear wheel arch was butchered - personally I consider it one of the key design points carried over from the original design.
Moreover, the proportions of the NACA side duct and the side windows are not pleasant to look at.
Some things should just be left alone......

the amount of attention these cars are getting these days is crazy
i must say to me countach is the most important lambo in history for many reasons so all well deserved imo

This might sound retarded, Emilio mentioned let’s wait and see the actual car, Wich makes sense, i have not been able to see any complete unveiling of this new Countach from the official Lamborghini website. There is a few design elements in this so called “New Countach” i have a hard time seeing Lamborghini inkl in the New Countach, such as the shoulder line/outer door line and rear wheel arches. Anyway, Sunday we should know.

    one more Aventador mutant...

There will never be another Countach, another Paolo Stanzani, another Marcello Gandini, another Bob Wallace…

Discussing with fellows owners, another analysis is about how to weekly keep up the attention of the Public, on a brand name with so many irrelevant things like boat, the culture of bees, the sun power supply, the meals at factory restaurant, the visit of a diplomat, and so on, and so on… this specific strategy chosen by current CEO is finally boring, nobody cares any longer because of too many communications, utilizing all the time the superlative words for nothing special...

Then, that circle loop is emphazing, out of control and it leads to such dramatic error of casting for the ultimate Aventador mutant… not the Ultimae which has been already launched...

Using the name of a "true genius idea" from Paolo Stanzani its technical creator and Marcello Gandini Its Designer… they were in advance on their era with a new model, today it is the end of a model & of an era…

As Gandini replied me yesterday : Di "rivoluzionario" nulla.

Unfortunatley these cars are not built for Olivier, Kaare, Jasper, Christian, Paolo, Allan, Marcel, etc... (me included)
they are made for billionaires that buy cars on cool factor and price tag only and most have no idea of the history of the original countach at all

we are not the ones that will sign the 2 millions plus check, we will keep buyng and restoring original old countach at a fraction of the price tag of this new car and we will be hardly pleased with anything that bears countach name again....may be only an hiper car with a 1000 hp na V12 monster and tecnical marvel would be ok for us

the owners of the new countach LP800 probably could not care much to have a car that is a tecnical milestone, they are happy with aventador SVJ performance and its user friendly manners, they did not read every single book or article on the old countach and they have no idea lamborghini forums exists at all...let's face it

Audi is milking the last $$ from the aventador platform, this car is not going to be a revolutionary car, it won't be a tecnical milestone

At least it has the most powerfull NA V12 lambo made, the platform is a good one and peformance are more than one could use on the road
now let's hope the design and interior is good enough and be happy whith that o_O

Yes, another Aventador family car: a Countach Tribute and not a bad idea at all. This 112 units limited production car will come with a special luggage set, made by a well known atelier here in Modena...

  14. The problem is the final rendering is done by a committee. A very large one & not a handful of guys given total leeway.

Disappointed overall. The top-down picture of it next to the original shows it's just a toned-down Sian with a different front end; car starts off strong and as you move towards the rear, there doesn't seem to be anything that really says Countach.

I guess tradition of the basics...like a stick shift and a left pedal and not computers doing everything for you.

I am going to tell you why I like it and it has nothing to do with the Countach either.

And that is because the body, the lines are much cleaner and simpler than anything they have put out since the Murcielago. The stealth or spaceship designs are tired now.

It's probably time Lamborghini says good-bye to OUTRAGEOUS and shift towards 'hey there" BEAUTY

The 112 units are already all sold, the car doesn't look bad at all and the idea is very good. I don't like only the introduction color: I would have done it in yellow like the LP500 or at least in green like the LP400 #1 they have at the museum

    Ciao

It makes sense for Lamborghini to send the Aventador out with another cloaked special edition, and given the anniversary - going the Countach-styling route is apropos.

Styling-wise and this is just IMO - the best feature on the car are the wheel arches. A modern take on the original design.

But the rest of the car just looks too big and bloated. Granted - I'm comparing it with the original, whereas it's obviously a tribute - a nod. But hey - I guess I just like old cars too much.
Can't fault them - remember that they had to begin with the Aventador architecture. And I do not think that there can ever be another production car with as low a roofline as the Countach, for some governmental regulation or another. However the attached image, says it all.

That-stated - they will all sell (they already did) and some will sell again and again for even more. But ever-since the Reventon - I'm amazed that with crash-testing and government regulation - plus tooling costs for small items like trim, headlights and taillights - that they even make these super-short run cars - no matter the price. What's the old story again about how much money Bugatti loses on every Veyron that they sell?

These are great times overall to be an automotive-enthusiast. Growing up in the late 70's and early 80's, I was sure that the best of automobilia was behind us. It's nice to be excited about new cars.

I could not agree more. The recent Lamborghini concepts and special models are drowning in wings and winglets and everything inn between. Almost childish and cartoon like. This car is clean and uncluttered like the lp 400. No denying there is a few very Aventador ish eye catching details, but i guess in order to make these limited run cars, there have to be a few freebies inn there somewhere. I would have loved to see this in the original lo 400 green color.

A countach mixed with an aventador sounds really cool to me. I like it a lot.

The original will always be better, but they made that thing when there was NO RULES in 1974! Can't do that anymore. This new one is a great tribute, looks somewhat countachey, and to have a 700HP Aventador motor in is exciting.
