Friends, If you are a member or are considering joining the l*amb*o-Po*we*r.com forum, I think you should be aware of the following. I am a long-standing owner of various sports cars, including a number of Lambos and Ferraris over the years. I enjoy exchanging info and talking cars, and have used the online forums to exchange mainly technical info on self-diagnosis and repair. As many will attest, I've also made substantial contributions over the last 10 years in this area as well. The owner of l*amb*o-Po*we*r.com is well-known as a biased enthusiast with ill-manners who frequently posts negative comments and worst about anyone or anything he doesn't agree with. I posted a reply to his comments on this forum (in the NM/AZ/NV regional group) in which he had needlessly provoked various members here. As a result of this, the owner posted my comments to his site (l*amb*o-Po*we*r.com) and proceeded to make a rather public show of denigrating me personally, etc. Within 2 days, someone had spoofed my account on l*amb*o-Po*we*r.com, sent personal messages under my name, which were subsequentely posted by the owner and other moderators and subjected to additional ridicule. I wrote the owner on several occasions asking for him to remove these posts and help me track down whomever spoofed my account, and his response was to further post and mock these messages, as did several of his moderators in that forum. At this point, I've given up on having any of that extremely derogatory material removed. So, ask yourself, do you want to expose yourself to that same risk? Additionaly, I wonder why anyone would want to sponsor that site, including a number of official Lamborghini dealers. Do they even read or follow the antics? The folks that own and run that site are immature at best, and bordering on legal issues more likely. Please take pause and consider if that's the appropriate forum to further your interest in exotic cars. Joe Martz
Stop lying, nobody "Spoofed" your account and if somebody did, it must have been your alter-ego that won from you the Johny Walker Blue the other night, evidently he put it to good use..
8ugger that. Must be very frustrating but as you said, give up and leave them to it the baw-munching losers!
the only way somebody could "spoof" your account, as you had mentioned is if they had known your IP; you also had a sort of trojan on your pc (that an anti-virus wouldn't have picked up on); and a cracker used a key logger, or decrypted a cookie with a stored password. Technically, the chance of that happening all for one small forum seems extraordinarily small... and a might bit too much work all for such an outcome. Admins don't have access to your password; however, they may, or may not be able to reset it.
Maybe the symptom was that the account was spoofed... more specifically, how difficult can it bet to edit a web page and just stick in someone's username, ip, etc?
Admins and/or Mods have the ability to "edit" posts, which is practically the same as being able to post whatever they want under your ID if that is their intention. I've personally seen Alan do exactly that when he was a mod in the other site F talk, so I wouldnt doubt jmartz' story.
I seem to recall the same thing happening there not too long ago with another member. Also, why would jmartz make up a story like this? what can he possibily get out of this by doing so?
Yep, I was subjected to this when on Ellen Lame-O's site a while back. No doubt that jmatrz's story is dead on. Whether they 'read or follow the antics' or not, they are being made aware of the situation from a multitude of varying sources.
why do i never hear anything positive about allen or his web site? it seems that everyone on that site just waits to pounce on people who post dialog that they disagree with. this happens sometimes on this site as well but it always seems that theres someone having a problem with that site.i wont register with that site for two reasons; i like ferraris and this site seems to be run by a bunch of yoyo's.
jmartz, That's too bad they do stuff like that to people like you who have contributed so much...but then again, most of the people over there seem like self centered idiots. There are a few people there that are good. I tend not to go to that site anymore. Never get anything answered...now post some stupid stuff on there and watch out...people respond to it like flies on shet.
I'm an owner and LPower is my first choice for information because there are a lot more owners on that site. I've never had any problems there. It might not be perfect, but it is the best site for Lamborghini enthusiasts that I know of.
I personally like the site.Like Allan or hate him one thing is certain.... that site has more Lamborghini fanatics and much more traffic than most sites. It is also heavily sponsored which is an indicator of its success.
Hey..I take offense to that! =/ p.s. Thank you Wayne for your remarks. We try to make it enjoyable for everyone.
I filed a copyright on the "=/" face ten years ago. Please remove this post or I will have my people contact your people to settle this matter.
My user name there was L-Diablo. Many of you know me and I've written a ton of tech stuff (including a NAPA cross reference for parts). That site is an insult to Lambo owners. Mostly rant and rave... nothing constructive... Have not been there for months and will not go agian..... waste of time.
G-force and mhh enjoy the site because the only people they welcome are Lambo owners. They think they are better than non-Lambo owners especially Fcar owners. I admit the site has lots of nice pictures and information but the people there are mainly (not all, for example mhh) cocky egotistical bastdras
I love LP. its the greatest place on earth for the ppl that post with regularity...much more tight-knit.
This is too ****ing funny............ And you're crying why??????????? These are internet chat forums for the love of christ............got balls???? I won't go there either.....na na naaa na naaaaa naaaa
