that there will be a 360 Evoluzione produced in March 2004. It appears it will have 450 hp with slight styling changes like oval front vents and Enzo like rear tail lights. I do not know whether they will produce a Spider version.

This is similar to what they did to the 550 with the 575M and if I am not mistaken the new version has not sold all that well.

What will Evoluzione do to Stradale and 360 resale values? Did the 550 depreciate substantially as a result of the 575M?

Actually it's much MORE likely that the 360 EVO will simply incorporate the Stradale improvements, i.e. Aero changes, some carbon-fiber interior bits, the revised engine spec, and the revised F1. There won't be a dramatic "M"-type change to the 360 before the 420 arrives.

intriguing. you say this awfully definitively. do you know this for a fact from some interesting source or is this conjecture on your part?

not in my opinion. the 550 was already on a pretty steep depreciation curve by the time the first 575s started shipping. i guess i wasn't paying attention before then though - it's possible that the 575M announcement caused a steep 550 depreciation event, but i'd be surprised if that's the case.

my anecdotal data suggests that they're having a harder time moving 575Ms than they were having moving the last 550s. i don't think the 575M was a stellar business idea. hindsight being 20/20, they're better bet probably would have been to have (i) shipped a 550 Spider, (ii) made a more substantial performance bump, or (iii) released a 550 Challenge Stradale equivalent. my two drachmas; for the record, Luca didn't call me to ask ;).

In yesterday's WSJ, they stated Ferrari sold 1,350 cars in the US last year. WSJ believes Ferrari will sell 1,500 this year.

Gee, Toyota makes that many in an hour.

By the way, my 550 may be selling at wholesale at under $100k. Of course the 512M is going up in value and will shortly pass my 550. Oh,well.

    "shipped a 550 Spider"

Completely agree, hope the 575 successor is available as a spider - always loved the Barchetta. I'll bet Ferrari could have sold a 575 spider at $300k to some of the 360 spider waitlist folks.

Will the 360 Evoluzione have the same exhaust on the 360 CS? I hope so!
