Great race this weekend. I was working corner 5. I couldn't believe it however when the 62 Risi car slid past me and the Farnbacher Loles Porsche took home the win. Now that I've home and saw on TV that it was because of the 61 Risi car blocking the 62 and letting the Porsche get ahead - what a bummer. Pretty exciting to see that happen starting about 6 feet from where you're standing though. Hey - no one on here has mentioned the 288 GTO that was at the race yet. (Or the F430 spyder, or the 328, or my little Mondial.) Not many Ferrari's up there over the weekend as far as I could tell, but its not everyday you see a 288 GTO - and for sale!

I just remembered that I took a picture of the 288GTO when it was parked at the Osthoff as I walked back to the B&B Friday night. Please excuse the phone pic, taken by a guy after one pretty stiff Tanqueray on the rocks and two glasses of wine with dinner... ;-)

    Awesome weather! End of story

Not many head turning spectator cars....The blue R8 in 3 was nice.

No, I didn't stand that far away from the track. I had press credentials, which got me right behind the concrete wall. And sometimes in front of it. :)

I liked the Noble. Not necessarily the prettiest car, but certainly one of (if not the) the fastest cars around.

Holy **** Jeff Schwartz Ultima GTR! (Not a noble)
I did not see that, it is one of my favorite cars! I got to "sit" in one a couple years back....I didn't really fit due to the bolstered seat.

OMG THAT LAST SHOT IS STUNNING! Nice work as always Andreas, I'll have to tag along next year. Did it turn out that you needed that pass to get good angles?

Also, did they let the spectators go onto the track with all the cars parked on the straight like 30 min. before the race? Someone told me thats what they do.

The pass helped, but in hindsight isn't really necessary. But it was fun as a phantasy. :)

Yes, they did that again. One of the occasions where the pass actually helped: They let me in a few minutes before everybody else, which made it a bit easier. Once the grid is covered with people, forget taking any decent pics.

Nice shots. It was a great race weekend. I was allowed to go all over the track at the FIA Homestead GT race
back in 1998. It does help at a track like Homestead , but Road America is a good photography track without a pass.

    Thanks, I appreciate that.

You got the fender/bender from the Atlantic race, neat!

Not all the noise can be removed, but it sure helps. You can get it as a stand alone program too. The possibilities are endless. I did an auto noise reduction on that one but you can also do it by hand, tweaking all the settings. Well worth the $40. Really nice shots Andreas! I love the pit lane one where the guy is out of focus. (pic 29, post 1)

Edit: Sorry to turn this into an advertisement, but here's a good piece on it:http: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV5Cv1P_UhM
