True, but as a driver he didn't have a chance to make much $$$.

I used to live right next door to a US Baseball legend of a player. Being my neighbour shows you that he ain't rich. Look at what even an average player makes today. Must be painful for the sports heroes from yesteryears.

Tru dat! I live right down the street from Jim Rice (former Red Sox player) - he has a nice house. But a few miles away lives Ray Bourque. Now HE has a REALLY nice house :)

They didnt used to make what they do these days. But Jackie Stewart was one of the first big mega-buck drivers who earned killer money. He was one of the transitionals from the underpaid over-risked driver to today's superstar megamillions drivers.

I wouldn't put too much faith in Forbes. An example: They took my buddies daughter, Ruth Parasol, off the list, because her stock in Party Poker dropped. Too bad that she'd sold it before it dropped, and they never caught it. He gave her the company, when it had 7 employees, she built it up to 2000, and when it went public, she got 1.9 billion for 1/2 of her stock. Bought her dad a Citation as a x-mass present, with a gas credit car. Not a bad deal.

Jody Scheckter is supposed to be bucks-up, mostly from shrewd business decisions he made after his career ended. I read somewhhere that he is worth over $100 million US.

Mosley's position is an honorary one, he earns no salary as head of the FIA.

I doubt the figure on Irvine. I know he has spouted off in interviews how he has made a ton of money in real estate but I suspect that his net worth is vastly inflated. Irvine is a master at self-promotion.

Actual number on Stewart is 110.

Irvine was valued at 400 mio now down to 160. Most of that money was in real estate, so it all depends on how you put a value on an asset that hasn't been sold. I can claim that my 308 is worth 80k. :)
