    1) not lame. Funny because it's true. Bringing in "Hamilton" was LAME.
    2) Nothing wrong with that. Just be honest about it.

Sorry I do not understand this forum anymore....

  6. Why does one need to explain a negative? He's a dang good driver. I just don't think he's "one of the true greats of all time". That takes explaining?

Yes, I'll stick to the emojies when I feel appropriate, thank you very much. :)

I think he explained quite clearly why the non-hybrid LMP1 had no chance this year. But you prefer to look the other way.
In 2012, there was valid opposition to the Audi team; there was none this year against the Toyota parade.
The article explains clearly how, even at the last minute, the ACO manipulated the rules to ensure that Toyota wouldn't lose.
You don't see it that way; that's fair enough. "There is no better blind than the one who doesn't want to see"
The testimony of an experienced Le Mans driver who has previously won holds more merit to me than the rambling of argumentative individuals on a forum.
    End of the matter.

Hahaha....apart from the Audi there was Toyota in its first year without any hopes to win out of the box...TOYOTA....
We can all be happy that you have nothing to say in the ACO because I can imagine the letter you would have writen to Toyota: "Thank you very much for spending a fortune in the past 6 attempts, you really made the victories of Audi and Porsche legit...now that they both left we do not want your hybrid anymore, if you want to participate in the 2018 edition please detune your car to the level of the privateers Audi and Porsche were allowed to beat by 11 laps"....
No, the role of an organizer is to set rules the participants can rely on, it is not their role to level the field. Neither in F1 nore in WEC!!! For some reasons you see that in F1 but not at Le Mans???
You are getting more and more arrogant towards anyone that does not share your opinion...and this from someone who just mentioned this:
YOU are obviously absolutely not interested in other peoples opinion as "nothing will ever take this away from you". What is the sense to discuss something with someone who already has made his mind and will never change it....guess who of us is the blind man

A little unnecessary at the end there.

While I agree that the testimony of an experienced Le Mans driver carries more weight than that of a fan on an internet forum, if you don't want to hear the thoughts of a fan on the internet forum, I wonder why you're posting about the topic in the first place. Getting exasperated that people have different views is contrary to the main purpose of the forum: being exposed to different views.

Agreed, let's leave it there before it gets too heated.

Let's not go down that road, please.

A little unnecessary at the end there.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Wait...did I miss something or did someone insinuate that Toyota colluded with the ACO/WEC body to ensure that they would win? That's a stretch even for an internet fan on any forum lol

But please do not forget that this experienced Le Mans driver is directly affected by this, so one can hardly call his opinion in this case unbiased. And he was in the same situation at the other end of the spectrum winning Le Mans and I do not remember him complaining about the unfair advantage of the rich works teams against the smaller ones back then....And if one asks about this one is called blind so please tell me who started all this....

You're hardly innocent here. You exacerbated the situation, threw the same insult back at him, and you're still perpetuating it even after I tried to gently diffuse it without banning anyone.

    Now shut up.

I put "End of the matter" in my last post, because for me the subject is close, and I don't want to discuss it anymore.
I read again yesterday evening the forum rules, and things are bordering on trolling now.
Next, I am going to put P. Singhof on my ignore list, where he will join TifosiUSA and for the same reason: to get some peace.

I declared that Toyota's win at Le Mans was a hollow victory and explain what I was basing my OPINION on.
I was then assailed by the afore mentioned participants because they didn't agree with what I wrote.
The exchanges became heated and have reached a point where I prefer not to continue; I don't think I have to justify an opinion once I explained it.
Several other members on FChat seem to have shared my views at some point, but I don't see the need to involve them. .

I am 70, and frankly a bit too long in the tooth to be influenced by "cyber bullies" on a forum.
I am quite happy to let them have the last word if that's what they want. The matter is not important enough for me anyway.
There are plenty of other participants with whom to engage in a civilised manner on this excellent forum.

That's all I have to say. Thanks for administering this forum.

    That is refreshing!

I'd hoped that you F1 guys would chill a bit.

When you put Peter on ignore, you'll sleep better, good call.

Would suggest Peter do the same with you.

    Thanks men,

    Dave

It is a tainted victory in my opinion. The non-hybrid "LMP1s" might as well have been classified LMP2 Pro.

  25. Did this before but maybe you missed....race drivers don't necessarily make great test drivers and vice versa.
    There's a major difference.
That's also not saying one can't be both....or neither (L Stroll???)
