Here is another picture of the rear of my car in a different light, showing the colour variation you get in pictures. Barkaways also did sprayouts for me, 3 versions of Dino met blu which were completely different to my original blue colour, one I would describe and turquoise! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Looks awfully close to the shade of blue that only Ferrari executives were given. Anyone recall that color name and have a pic?

Because this thread was updated recently, and my car was the subject of the original posts:

The 1978 308 GTB dry sump Euro car has been sold. For very close to the asking price. It’s gone to a great home.

The cream always rises to the top.

Great to see my old 308 discussed in such favorable terms! I totally agree of course. As for the colour: it was painted dark blue (probably Blu Sera) when I bought it. I later discovered that the original colour was Blu Dino (note, I've never found an offical name for this colour with the mention of metallic, even though there's also a non metallic Blu Dino which looks more like the colour used on the Lancia Stratos). OMGjon kindly sent me a paint sample from his 246 Dino restoration in the metallic Blu Dino colour. When my 308 was stripped bare, two repaints emerged as well as the original colour. It matched the sample from OMGjon to a tee.

So I'm absolutely convinced that 26637 is now painted in the correct shade of blue.

    Best, Peter

My experience exactly. Even in real life the colour on my old 308 changes quite obviously under different light circumstances. It's not a boring colour that's for sure!
