Not having a cup holder severely limits when I can drive my 430. You don’t realize how much you miss it till the car doesn’t have one. I was thinking of this one https://exoticcarbonfiber.com/product/carbon-fiber-cup-holder-5/ Anyone have this one and does it work for a typical Starbucks grande or is it too shallow? I know that sounds a little crazy but when I had a 2000 Boxster S the cup holders were so shallow anything bigger than a small/tall would fall out so I have a little experience with this problem and was very happy when Porsche redesigned them in their next release. Ask if you have any other cup holder solutions to recommend please let me know. Thanks, Cheers, Corey Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Looks similar to what I have in my 360. Anything bigger than my 12 oz won’t fit. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have one but with a manual you'll be looking for a very very small water bottle so it doesn't interfere with shifting. It's very nice to have to hydrate on a long drive with the top down though! And much more useful than a cigarette holder if you don't smoke.
I just got it 2 weeks ago and have only used it once. So far it's ok but I haven't done any "spirited" driving with a drink in it.
I have the one made by Carbonia in my F1 430. It is fairly small. It will hold a bottle of water fairly well. The bottom line is that it is MIUCH better than having a useless ashtray and it is good looking.
Same. My wife and I do several "long" drives and take either coffee or water. It's great for 12oz containers with a screw on top. I wouldn't use a standard coffee-house cup with cheap, plastic snap-on lid. Even under normal driving, too great a chance of the lid popping off and liquid flying all over the place. As for "spirited" driving... Not sure how spirited you can get on the road (yes I do aggressive accelerations to speed limit and sometimes spend more time going around cloverleafs "at speed" than necessary) but I've never had an issue; again using a container with screw on and closeable top. Of course if you're talking tracking the car, wouldn't matter anyway since you wouldn't have anything in the cockpit not properly secured. Bottom line: the CF cup holder (I have the Carbonia as well) is a great investment if plan to drive more than 15 min at a time.
Do you mean Carbonio? I can’t find a company named Carbonia? Actually searching out one myself... Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
If you're talking about the two buttons below the cup holder, those are the convertible roof and rear storage compartment switches. Car must be a Spider.
I assumed that’s where they are on all 430 spiders...is that not the case? If not, I wonder where they are supposed to be??
If anybody is interested, I can get them from RTuned at a very good price. Cheaper than MSRP for sure.
It always looked to me that the cup would get in the way of shifting on my gated manual. Does anyone have one in a gated manual? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I don’t think I would want a cup holder, I feel it would get in the way. However, I’ve yet to take my 360 on any long trips, so maybe I could use one for water if that time ever comes
It retails for $140.00 USD like the other ones. They're all the same anyways. Image Unavailable, Please Login I've spoken to the owner, he said if we can get 5+ Orders, can do them for $120.00 USD Shipped. Still saving over 40$ over others, which might not seem like a lot, but...fair amount when you factor in the low price of the piece!
I'm in now, exoticcarbonfiber called me and said they are out and refunded my money. So now I need to order from somewhere else. I'll hold off if you can get that deal and go with your vendor.
