    ... the story behind the Daytona in the Gumball Rally movie? How many cars did they use? Whatever became of it? Did they wreck one of them in the scene where the Daytona and the Cobra are racing in the river (it looks like the Daytona spins out and goes towards the water)?

    Ed, according to the French book, Moteur!.. Elles Tournent - Les Ferrari au Cinéma, s/n 16467 was used until it was crashed during filming. It was then replaced by s/n 14829.

    According to its then-owner, Joseph Crevier, s/n 14829 was used in both Gumball Rally and A Star is Born.

    According to most sources, s/n 16467 was used in A Star is Born, where it was damaged, resulting in its conversion into a "Spyder NART" by Michelotti.

    Perhaps the authors of the Moteur! book were confused. It sounds like 14829 might have been used in Gumball Rally and again in A Star is Born as a replacement for the wrecked 16467.
