Arrrrggghhhhhh.....Wet Mode, PTU failed and replaced.....Same issue returns, Wet Mode is back

    Just bummed and speechless.....PTU just replaced in the summer and same issue/ warnings have returned....Interstate was also put in so not a battery issue.....car was at the dealer for almost 2 months and now headed back at some point. I’ll try to wait until after Thanksgiving as it won’t be as painful to be without it an extended period of time....not saying it’s the PTU again but something is obviously not right....

    Power Transfer Unit. Known problem on the FF and now Lusso.

    I now have a warranty until 2021 so I’ll let them sort this issue out over the winter....just frustrating

    Why would a bad PTU cause the car to go into wet mode? What errors were stored in the ECU?

    What year and model is it?

    If newer lemon that damn car. No need to have a car in service for 30 days and say " well let it sort itself out over the winter".

    No way.

    2017 Lusso and well beyond any lemon law claim....The Wet Mode/ failure warning could be many different things. Most often it’s a battery issue, sometimes PTU....both are brand new....

    Lemon law can apply up to 4 years of purchase. Yes you can lemon it

    I'm in Mass so as I said the lemon law does not apply....every state is different....

    It seems unlikley that its another PTU failure. It is pretty unheard of for a PTU to fail that quickly, there have only been about 10 reported failures between the FF and Lusso and they typically show up after 4-5 years.

    If its the same issue coming back again is it possible the PTU wasn't faulty to begin with and was just a case of the dealer throwing parts at an unknown issue?

    wtfff...good news is PTU might bot be as bad as we thought.
    there is a wire or cable that can get twisted and cramped. it was causing wet mode errors on my 2012 ff and someone elses car here. cld it be they replaced PTU and never noticed the cramped cable???

    If confirm its not the wire first. If thats all it is and u have a new ptu u are golden.

    what sucks is you just can't take it off and make rwd.
    on some r8 and gallardo you could take off the front gear box and disconnect
    and you would have rwd .

    There is one known RWD conversion, but no details on the shop that did it.

    Starting to think this is not a ptu issue and more of a software or possible bent cable issue
