Newbie here. Please correct my steps below because I assume this is what I need to do.

    1) pull the battery disconnect in the trunk before starting
    2) remove the battery cover from the passenger footwell
    3) attach the battery tender pigtails to the terminals
    4) put back the battery disconnect in the trunk
    5) test the alarm by locking and unlocking he car? <=== from here down I'm just guessing
    6) Clock needs to be set once again
    7) I have the factory radio so do I need to deal with anything at his point because the battery was disconnected?

    Any advice is appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

    Looks good.

Step 5 is done so that the alarm won't be triggered when you close the storage compartment lid

Yes you will need to reset your clock and re-enter radio code if you still have the stock stereo system.

Are you looking to attach a plug for your tender? If so: Many 430s have tender plug under the dash on the passenger side. I would look for that first. If you don't like that, you can attach the pigtail at the battery or behind the drivers seat. There is a detailed thread but remove the bottom panel and the connection points are pretty obvious.

Number 7: do you have the radio code card packed in with manual somewhere? If you turn off the battery switch you will need to enter the code once power is restored.

If you don’t have the code card one of our members can get it for you. There is a long thread on radio code card that Lil Daz, monitors

There is a thread here and one in the 599 section linking to an adapter from Ctek to factory plug. The thread in the 599 section I posted links if you want to make your own adapter cable.

    FYI...
I have an 08 spider and this is what i have done ( as recommended by ferrari dealer service dept).
behind the driver/s seat there is a panel ,unscrew it and open the panel , will see terminal for battery a positive and a ground. Attach your battery tender pig tail and let it out the side of the panel,. It will be much easy for you to plug in the charger when not in use.

Interesting, I've never heard about the terminals behind the drivers seat before. I'll check it out.

For safety, always turn the battery master power switch OFF when working on any electrical circuits.
Once you are done working on any electrical circuit:
Turn the battery master power switch on.
    Close the front trunk.
Grab your key and push the key remote control once. That will unlock the car.
Push your key again to lock the car. This resets the alarm system.
Push it again to unlock the doors. You are now good to go.

Try not following the above and see what happens.
Most likely your alarm will go off.

    Hope that helps.

The electric window control units will also need to be reset. With the window down, press the up switch to raise the window to maximum in a single motion. Continue to press the up switch for an additional two seconds. Lower the window to minimum and continue to press the down switch for another two seconds. Do both windows.

Thanks, OK any other things I need to take care of once I reattach the battery?

Also should I be resetting the windows with the door closed?

The doors should be closed. After the window reset, verify that the window drops to clear the weatherstrip when you open the door. The window should close fully after the door is closed.

I did not review the links that were provided by various Ferrari Chat members, but it is necessary to reset the ECU in a process that will take you from startup through a drive cycle. The instructions are available via search. If you can not find it, I will post them for you.
