Geez Steve I wish I could show the total BS I had to go through between leaving home in Sydney to arriving at home in HongKong.....This Virus is totally destroying what we used to think is human normality...I’m sitting in Quarantine at the moment but Geez what I’ve had to go through is right out of a SciFi movie...The only plus is I got great service on CX and my steak in business on the way up on the 350....
I can imagine. It’s ****ing ridiculous. How long do you have to be in quarantine? What does your roster look like? Is it anything like normal?
That’s what we have to do to go to Melbourne (which I did today, obviously). I’ve been to Perth and Darwin as well in the last few days and thankfully didn’t have to do any of that crap in terms of flying in a space-suit. Mind you, Perth was interesting. They really are a unique bunch over there. Might as well be another country.
Finish tomorrow Steve as I arrived as crew...Roster is busy until the end of the month...Just relaxing as everything was go go pouring 100 cubic meters of concrete for the shed slab the day before I left on Wednesday...
So does that mean the rest of the world is returning to some kind of normal in terms of (international) travel?
Far what I’ve seen...I wouldn’t put my worst enemy through what I had to go through and I’m crew...As a Pax it would be horrendous....
The people in Perth were fantastic. Even though we were banned from entering a building or going near anyone - slightly odd considering SA has zero C-19 issues - they were so thoughtful that they organised for a portable toilet to be dropped off the back of a truck near our aircraft, and a bag of sandwiches and drinks were placed 20 metres away. Does anyone else still get to see Boeing 747-400s......flyover ? Queen of the sky .......still be flying decades into the future .
Steve’s the only one flying globally...He’s treated like royalty hence a big blue thunder box and a tray of sangers being dropped at his jet....
Ok-I get to see about 10 a week coming in ..low and turning in under throttle .....always a buzz to see..
Must be freighter dogs....There are no passengers to put in a jumbo at the moment...All of ours are flat out at CX flying freight....
Yes. Singapore Airlines, Atlas Air, Cathay Pacific and Polar Express ....So enjoyable to watch as they chuck 'em around . I can hear them from miles away as they power in , flying right over the roof of my property .
A regret- booking from Singapore to London last year with BA ....booking the wrong day and flying on a 380 rather then a 747 . and vice versa . Something about a 747 full of fuel, passengers and cargo on a long haul taking of and that graceful climb..
Hi there Arvin you seem like an interesting cat, what’s your garage looking like, anything interesting in there, we’re a curious lot [emoji12]
