So Gary are the cargo flights still happening? So you think tthis is a commercial decision by CX or gov’t closing the doors. Friend came back from Cambodia about a month ago (been there about 12 months) not because he wasn’t perfectly happy where he was but because he got a call from the embassy basically saying if he didn’t go soon, he might not have any chance of getting back for the foreseeable future...
Sorry to hear that John...Hopefully things will improve with the mindset of the vaccine...you are always welcome at my place...I cook awesome steaks...
It’s the govt Karen...It’s costing us an extra 400 million a month to comply..it’s no longer Hongkong...It’s now ChiNah....They have even stripped the passports off many Hongkongers...Disgraceful...
BN(O) wasn’t worth squat anyway (my ex was a holder); more scary is for all the dual nationals who now have no protection in HK / China - this is going to be hard for a LOT of people who have family in both places; even if you’re just an ordinary joeblow visiting your granny, would you want to take your chances with being caught up in something overseas with no chance of consular support? Every Legco member who let this happen should be kicked out of office... but unfortunately the HK people have to share some of the blame because they never supported the pro- Democracy candidates when they had the chance. Greed has caught up with them...

Yep just saw it now...Lucky no one was killed on the ground...The engine shroud did its job containing the catastrophic failure...By the way the engine was shaking it looked like fan blade failure...
Especially the Australian ones - fitted with RR Avon engines, which had a lot more power than the original GE ones
Flying Officer !!! It's still flying as are all of the F-111s I ****ed around with ......... I did drop a nut into the AB of the engines one day replacing a rudder transducer and in a million to one chance the nut went all the way into the engine causing the engine fitters to have to pull the engine out to get to it As you can imagine it's a LITTLE more complicated thatn a 355 engine out Then a few days later after running the engine through it's pre-flight tests they bought it back to the flight line and I went out to do the transducer again and dropped the SAME nut into the engine in another one in a million chance This time I had to help the engine fitters pull the engine and get the nut ........ the good news is that Bob King, the head engine runner, let me test the engine I love the sound of that Pratt&Whittney in zone 3 AB (Not supposed to do zone 3 in the carports but I was getting out of the RAAF anyway so had nothing to lose Thanks again Bob, was a great thrill to be in charge of the engine run from the left seat
