I've noticed that too, yet despite airplanes running on flammable Jet fuel or Avags, airlines and regulators seem to take exception to Lithium batteries.

Try not to confuse “accepting change” with reality. Despite clueless people’s (understandable) enthusiasm, we are decades away from passenger airline flights on batteries, beyond a couple of hundred km with a couple of dozen passengers at most. At best with regards to real airliners travelling real distances, in your lifetime there’ll be “sustainable” (lol) fuel used in what are essentially the same turbine engines powering the same family of aircraft as now. Maybe you have trouble accepting that, but it’s the truth.

I suspect the issue is more because the lithium batteries carried on by (some idiots) aren’t controlled/maintained/in serviceable condition etc, rather than any inherent danger. I don’t think you can carry an ordinary car battery o to a plane either.
