We get Bose A20s or whatever the latest version is from work.

Wonderful. Light. Comfortable. Can listen to music / videos whatever on the long haul and the ATC radio comes in and out perfectly.
Make phone calls if necessary. And so on.

I was previously a David Clarke man, but the Bose are far superior.

Great flying. Looks like he was auto-rotating and flared at just the right moment. I wouldn't touch those POS Robinsons...

I use to hitch a ride on the Iroquois of 9 sqn when we had a slow day and they practiced auto-rotations most trips , was scary the first time :)

I wouldn’t touch any HOS helicopter. Never been in one, and never will.

They are an insult to anyone whom understands aerodynamics and nature.

    Absolutely.

An aircraft is a natural flying object. Push one off a cliff and it will fly.

A helicopter is an abomination, albeit a fairly useful one.

Push an F-16 off a cliff and watch it drop like a rock, same as all modern fighters, they are made naturally unstable to increase their ability to change direction and use AFCS to remain "stable"

That is true. Although if the cliff was high enough it would probably eventually take up some form of “glide” albeit the glide ratio would be laughable.

I remember reading about the Mirage and the procedures after an engine failure. The glide speed was absolutely ridiculous (300kt or something) and it was pretty much whatever is straight down is where you’ll end up.
In fact weren’t they told to basically not even bother trying and just eject?

Lot different in civvie world. The PC12 has remarkably good glide performance, as does the -24.

The Mirage , as you say, had the gilde projectory of a brick plus it had the additional fun fact of only being able to do 2 barrel rolls before it started rotating arse over tit and crashing, no ejecting from it then !!
