Gee I didn't know you could wind down the windows. I bet its easy to spot Aussie pilots with their arm out the window
All I could think about was how awesome it would be to fly at this time. Dead smooth. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sig www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
I would have said Mk VB as well. The Mk 111 was an interim Mk, with a then hard to get Merlin XX. White spinner, and white band around frame 19, with the merlin 45. Some Mk 2's were equipped with 20mm cannons (B wing) but suffered many stoppages rendering accurate firing almost impossible, with only one cannon firing the yaw was "exciting." So they went back to the original eight gun "A" wing configuration until the wing was strengthened to cope with the recoil, and better cartridge feed, before the universal "C" wing was introduced. By the looks of it" DA" aircraft code belongs to RAF 210 squadron. Not sure they flew Spits though. Could be just creative "license" by the artist?? MG
Was talking to the owner of the 2x Cig cases , we think without looking at the hallmark (we were driving) they would be 1950s issued?
Learning how to use a G430, which I think must be about 1000 years old. Sig www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
Did a check flight in a 182 today. Hadn't flown one since 1983!!!! Geez they're a good thing to fly I reckon. AND....you can fully load (including fuel)...that's a massive bonus.
They are, but it’s probably a good idea to try to get your head around them. They (and the 530) were a game changer for GA. Pretty much paved the way for G1000 which is more or less standard now. Very, very capable units.
182 is a superb bus. One of my favourite aircraft to fly was a 182RG. Quiet, fast, roomy, heaps of load capability. I never could understand why Cessna didn’t revisit those and (even more so) the 210 when they started up again in the 90s.
