Hey John, here's practice in the FA 18 last week...not getting close to the buildings ,put it on full screen to get the real deal. The last two mins are almost in slowmo for some reason.
Dear Knocker, Came across your post about Morris Mowat Sinclair. This is because I am writing a book about Oflag XXI-B "Schubin", a prisoner of war camp he was in before he was moved to Stalag Luft IIII. You can see this on the right upper side of his "Personalkarte" (one of the photos you posted.) Every bit of information you can add would be wonderful for my book. Kind Regards, Ben van Drogenbroek [email protected]
Hi Ben, I will pass your details on to My friend, these are of course personal family effects and It would be gentlemanly to ask for his blessing regarding publication of photos and documents alike, I’m sure Scott will be very helpful and have further details of his father’s service during WW2, either way please respect the privacy and wishes of the Sinclair family and good luck with the book I’ll keep an eye out for it, Kind regards Adrian
You must have to be very careful on take-off - kicking in a little stick to counteract the torque. I wonder how many have flipped giving it too much welly?
Yes, definitely. The Spitfire in particular was very susceptible to ground handling issues with the narrow track landing gear. Mustang and Hurricane would be easier to handle on the ground, but they’d all need very careful application of power on takeoff. Even in the PC12 with 1200hp you need a big boot full of right rudder on takeoff to stop it spearing off into the weeds.
