Went to this today in Toowoomba. You've no idea how big it was. A lot of crapola, but plenty of interesting bits and pieces too. Got some great metal signs for the Man Cave. http://www.onlybrisbane.com.au/shopping-services/markets-fetes-fairs/swap-meets/toowoomba-swap-meet
Simon, I bought 4 metal signs at the huge price of $15 each. Had to pay cash and they are the sort of thing you would see for $35-$40 in a proper retail outlet. These are just novelty type stuff that appealed to me They are just for my shed. I am very happy with them. I also bought some US number plates. I am going to hang these throughout my shed. There is huge interest in metal signs and garage memorabilia. Obviously, originals will be worth a lot more money than the ones I bought which is fine with me. If you want to sell some of what you have, EBay may be an avenue for you. Or here perhaps.
What I have left is the remainder of my collection from my old(vintage) servo I sold in '07. I sold about $10K's worth when I got out of it,on Ebay, though one of my old(vintage)pumps went to Townsville. One bloke in Richmond,NSW,bought about $7K's worth alone.
John O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life, between the legs of me wife!" That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night ! He went home and told his wife, Mary, "I won the prize for the best toast of the night." She said, "Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?" John said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church beside me wife." "Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!" Mary said. The next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street corner. The man chuckled leeringly and said, "John won the prize the other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary." She said, "Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself. You know, he's only been in there twice in the last four years. "Once I had to pull him by the ears to make him come, and the other time he fell asleep".
A guy was crossing the road and got hit by a Smart car and was killed. Paddy said "Ohhhhh well, it could have been worse. He could have been hit by a truck! " Roland's joke for the day.
Haha, reminds me of an old one Why did the hedgehog cross the road? To get to the other side. Why did his friend cross the road? To see his flatmate!
