I learned a trick to help me during exams: I hold the film up at an angle. When the examiner asks what the hell I'm doing, I tell him it's to get more contrast in the emulsion. What I was actually doing was getting a reflection off the film, so I could see the fingerprints, which invariably were over the lesion in question.
