well, i'm not a great conna-sir of beer, just a great consumer.

where i live (adelaide), the most popular would be coopers pale ale or west end draught. out west (perth) they have emu bitter and west end draught, the south-east (melbourne) has VB (exactly the same as emu bitter), way south (tasmania) tends to have cider on tap as well, in the NSW outback i've noticed a good deal of southwark (green death) consumption vs XXXX.

of course this is just going by what you find on-tap in most places.

me, most of the time i drink pale or draught, but when i'm out and about i like the stella's and irish brews (not guinness though).

but there's nothing nicer than kickin back at a mates place with a slab of corona's and lemon, interspersed with tequila slammers and wrenching on cars. :)

Well alrighty then, I intend to nominate BEER as the official drink of Ferrari owners. This cool libation seems to transend regional as well as ethnic differences.
I am sorry to say after looking at a globe and seeing exactly how freeking far under Oz is, I will never be able to visit. ( I cannot be on an airplane for more than 5 hours )
So I hope to see some of you yahoos in Monterey.

    lol, sorry about that!

Even we don't have a clue what the weather is going to do here half the time.

Was this the event where all the Fcars were grouped together on the grass near the beach down at Glenelg?

Well, I had a really tough time with the front blown header of my 308GTB, until I realized I should drink a few Morettis.

After six or so, the dam_ part just fell right in! Than all I had to do was install the left over stuff. Right hand gas tank, fender well, engine mounting bolts, stuff like that.

When the rear header blew out, awhile later, I was ready!

    Cheers to Australia!

That pic threw me for a loop, of the US lost in the outback! One day I'll hop a big bird and drop over!

yeah that was the one, we were all freezing our tits off and a lot of the guys had pulled their cars apart just to polish them for the concour!!

I just drove mine thru a car wash (after it spent a day in a carburettor place to fix up the crap fuel I picked up along the way).

Got some good friends in Adelaide and really miss having the GP there as it was more fun than in Melb although he Fcar boyz in Melb are a bit more animated :)

    Gday fellas....

In response to this thread (very entertaining actually) I must say, that back in the day, when I was a kid...there was only ONE beer here in Queensland and that was fourex. None of these other "poofy" egotistical image driven beers...although fosters and VB have been around forever.

For those who havent been here...well what can I say. Ive been told its the best country in the world, and I reckon thats pretty spot on.

Heres a dealership about 15 minutes away from where I live here in Queensland.

    www.johncant.com.au

The actual owner and founder of this business passed away end of last year apparently. The only ferraris I get to see around Brisbane (capital city of Queensland) are either on tv, in showrooms, or parked outside ritzy cafes ...which is VERY rare. I went for coffee and breakfast down at Newfarm a few months ago (one of the trendy) parts of Bris Vegas, and just about spat a mouthful of hash browns and mushrooms into my girlfriends face, as a brand new 360 Modena cruised by......PHWOOOOOOOAR!

    Anyway...enough babbling....go the brisbane lions!!

there's one less Ferrari in Qld now but I'm going to address that before the end of the year hopefully.

If you're in the market to build your own Ferrari engined sports car let me know as I have a lot of very new mechanicals for a 308 based car :(

Your car is worth $100?! (300/3) Even an ancient bomb from the 70's or earlier is worth more than that!

I think the cheapest car I ever saw listed on Yahoo cars was about $300. But quite alot more around the $500 mark. Their paintjobs are so bad it burns your eyes to look at the photos! lol

heh, just seeing how cheap i could acquire a ferrari donk. :)

nah, i'm chucking several $K at it right now just to get it going as well as it can with a 35 year old 1.6 DOHC in it. that should keep me happy until i can afford a mondial or 308. be interesting to see what Shannons will value it at once it's finished, wouldn't be surprised at anything between $6-20k, not big bickies, but big bang/style for buck.

last year i spent $4-5K on my other one (a black X) but didn't get it where i wanted to, so i bought this one (the white X) which was in better condition to start with. the black one's been sitting around for the last 9 months, so i'm giving it away.

the way I see it is like Enzo, when you buy a Ferrari you're only paying for the engine, the rest is free and seeing as how the car is listed for about $45K I think the engine would be a steal for $20K :)

Now if you think that's heavy just ask some Ferrari people what it costs for cogs from a Ferrari gearbox !!!

Last time I saw 3 cogs from a Testarossa in an ice cream tin I was told they were worth $8K for the 3 !!! all up $12K to repair the gearbox due to being ham-fisted!

    getting tempted Ash ??

I know I would be.... this motor has done reasonable mileage which means it has done enough over the years to be reliable and if it hasn't let go by now, and I have considered it bullet-proof ever since I bought it 6 years ago.

I was hinking of putting it in my fiat2300s coupe and upsetting 2 marques :)
