I once had the same sort of behavior on my fiat dino and I searched for exhaust leaks and rebalanced the carbs and it persisted. Then it all disappeared when I installed new points and decided not to trust my home measurements on their set up and had the distributor set up on a sun distributor machine so that the two sets of points were exactly 180 degrees apart. I don't know if you have the same dual point three lobe distributor, but it is always best to verify that the ignition system is working perfectly before touching carburetors at all. Best of luck.

Looks like a consensus among the Dino "tuners" that all three criteria, i.e., timing, carburation and exhaust leaks, can affect amount of backfire. I deduce from comments in this thread that timing and carburation must be correct before air infiltration/exhaust leaks can be addressed. Sounds logical to me!
Somewhat analogous to painting the Golden Gate Bridge - when you reach the end, it's time to start over again. Such is life with these old carburetted cars.

When I switched from my stock exhaust to the Tubi, it did make the burbling stonger. I LOVE the sound and I believe it is quite normal for a Dino.
How can I get more :)

    Dave,

Thanks for the jet info. Burblier shows a fine respect for the English language. It works every time its tried! My Dino burbles just about perfectly with similar jets.
