Incredibly sad Though there was no driver fault in this horrible accident, we must remember the risk involved at the track. Please be careful.
I am speecless. I didn't know either of the members but reading this thread brings water to my eyes. I can't imagine what both families are going through. I am speechless. May both of them rest in peace.
What a sad and tragic accident My sincere condolences to their families and to all of you who knew them!!! May they rest in peace. Carsten
I am speechless, its like loosing a part of the family. Both will be very missed. God bless and prayers are with the families. My thoughts will be about Ben and Cory for a while regardless of how well i knew either. Rest In Peace. -jt
There will be a memorial tomorrow @ CC for Ben and Cory http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...&threadid=27674
The fact that they both leave behind families makes this all the more tragic. Cory was just married 30 days ago? That's horrible. RIP guys
Today is my dad's birthday. It has now become a very sad day. This is not what I was hoping to read when logging on to Fchat after a day's work. My condolences to the friends and family of those lost, especially the children who will grow up without a wonderful father. As mentioned in another forum, this tragic day will impact upon the rest of their lives. Information about the crash is still quite vague. I think it's important the mechanisms that resulted in the deaths are fully discovered so as to help prevent such accidents in the future. We've seen over the last few years, since the latest generation of supercars have been released, alot of stories and accompanying photos of them being crashed and on some occasions, written off. What all the stories had in common was that the occupants escaped without serious injury. I believe this is the first accident involving one of the Carrera GT / Enzo / Zonda / Koenigsegg / Ford GT / Saleen S7 group of cars that has actually resulted in a fatality. In this case, both driver and passenger, despite the safety cell looking relatively intact.
This is very sad. I knew ben only from his posts, but I always enjoyed his point of view and his contributions. My condolences to his family as well as Cory's.
There is nothing that i can say that as not already been said, but i will pray for the families of Ben and Cory, and even though i am in the UK if there is anything i can do please dont hesitate to let me know.
I have just started my morning with little or no sleep - I know many of you have probably shared the same... I'm still in disbelief of the tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are still with the close friends and families of Ben and Cory... I thought I would share an article that I found: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/state/la-me-speedway3jun03,1,3734695.story?coll=la-news-state It is comforting to know that the men had all their safety equipment on, did not suffer burns, and all possible emergency help was provided. I just hope and pray that in this case, their suffering was brief. It's moments like these that pull together the community even more - we are reminded by this loss about how fragile our lives are and how much care we must always exercise, even when pursuing that which we love to do. God speed, gentlemen. Byron
All, Bens wife has asked me to save this string of messages so that one day she can print it out and look at it herself and also show it to Parker, his daughter, when she grows up. This will help to preserve his memory in all of us. Please post anything you feel is appropriate. I will pass it onto Charlotte, his wife, later on. If you need to send something more personal (which you do not want posted), please do not hesitate to send me an e-mail at [email protected]. I will print it out and forward it to Charlotte. Thanks, David Bhuta
Yes thats the One (2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Barchetta Blue). We were going to meet for a drive in San Diego. They both will be missed. Cory was a very nice guy and he was so funny, he and Mr. Phantom had become such great friends since Vegas. He and Ben will be missed. This is to sad for words. We are planning to attend the funeral when Mr. Phantom gets back from New York. My heart felt condolences to Bens family and Corys new wife. We are so sad that this could have ever happened. This is so much more than just a tragedy. May God bless them and keep us all. Be Safe everyone. Ms. Phantom
Most of us new Ben, lj from the different car forums where he was very active but very few new Cory rudl, the passenger and the Murcie owner. Here is some words of wisdom from cory himself, he was a very talanted young internet marketeer. http://www.fauna-art.net/Corey_Rudl_interview.htm
Parker, I was not fortunate enough to know your father, but to only see him a few times at monthly car meets held in San Diego. Your father was a great and generous person as evidenced by his actions and the words of people in this community. He will be missed and never forgotten. May you meet and exceed the qualities your father possessed and this world will be blessed with another person that brings spice and zeal to lives of people he or she meets. Bless your family, and I'm sure your father is smiling kindly on you and your mother everyday.
i must say reading all of these posts by people that knew him.. i can tell it was a tragic loss. I feel so bad for the family and may god bless them .
very sad, a true trajedy....i didnt know personally but from his posts here and was an intelligent , informative car lover....we will miss him...
Even though I have never meet either of them. May they both rest in peace. They are both in a better place now, watching over their families.
