    well BBR are not considered diecast, but handbuilts, yet all the same are top notch....
    as far as diecast goes, i collect exclusively 1/43 motorsport so can be a bit of help there:

    MINICHAMPS are very highly rated
    SPARK are resin built, but very nice and priced well
    IXO
    BEST
    BRUMM - it is hit/miss with them.some are good....some not so good

    To some degree I find this a bit of an academic discussion. Only with a few models we really have a choice (e.g. 550 Maranello) to pick and choose a manufacturer.

    I got a really poor 275 GTB model, but it is the only one available. So do I care, that Kyosho could in theory make the best 275 GTB model possible? Not really, as long as they don't build it.
