Can anyone recommend a supplier for the most accurately reproduced full carpet set for a 1980 dry sump? I’m looking for the best match of the original cut, floor Matt rubber pads and piping and who has a knowledge of the correct factory colours. Thank you for any pointers.. I’m currently getting quotes from Lupi and reoriginals. Both claim exact dimensions. It’s the material and color I’m having issues with. My 85 I believe is synthetic but they want to sell me Wilton wool.
I wouid not "recommend" because I did not buy it yet. But you could know a price here : http://www.lakewell.com/fr/ferrari Anyone already bought from them ?
Also a good suggestion. Thanks. Anyone reading this know what the standard red/tan 85 carpet color was? Tan, Biscuit or Beige?
Last time I did a carpet job I installed thin insulation that I got on ebay under insulation roll.AC was COLD ,,,huge improvement $50 Its Dynamat Xtreme,, your feet and back will never get cooked again, Makes a huge difference insulating the fire wall
That is the question ! As I know carpeting color was Bruciato 85 ( code colour not year ) and was superceeded by Castoro 172 for the 328. But I Don't the exact date of this. I have sample of Tan, Biscuit & Beige carpet from us, but I still Don't know which one matching with Ferrari code. Don't forget that Beige for european is same as Tan for US people !
Sent a sample to ReOriginals. They have nothing close but are checking with Lupi in Italy to see what they offer. I believe it to be a synthetic. I’ll keep posting.
"Lupi" in Italian it's the plural of "Lupo", that means "Wolf". The correct name of that Italian interior supplier is "Luppi". It's a synthetic carpet. ciao
those attached below are pictures of a Luppi carpet sample, red color. It's 8 mm thick. Then I got them from Maieli as he did my interiors so I got also the carpets from him. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’m not going to make the claim of best full carpet, but I bought one of the lakewell sets and have to say very pleased with the result. All pieces fitted correctly quality appears good for the cost. I have a RHD 308 so reoriginals and others were unable to help as they don’t have RHD kits/patterns. Can’t vouch for the longevity of the lakewell carpets as I’ve only just fitted them but look and feel is great Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
they can redo everything: seats, door cards, head rests, dashboard, tunnel, floor mats, carpets, trunk carpets, rear shelf (in Zegna fabric too), roof fabric et ceteram in all colors ciao
Thank you for the correction. Yes I understand that the material is synthetic as is the original. I sent Luppi a sample to try to match color as close as possible.
I happen to have a summary of the order given in April 1989 for #81085, my 328 GTB, by her original owner. The carpet color is described exactly as "Ferrari 364900172, Castoro 172". If you use a search engine and put into it "Ferrari 364900172 Castoro", you will discover that this carpet color was still used on some 430s, 599s and 458s...but also that a small number of 208 Turbos (= 1982 - 1985) are described by their owner as having "castoro 172" carpets, that would be even before the introduction of the 328. Whether this is original or after restauration I don't know. Rgds And, for those who love cans of worms... Body paint color is described as 62401600, Rosso Corsa 300/9 Leather as 364014208, Beige 4208 (we know of course that the reference of beige leather changed in December 1988: new grade and color cf the older "Beige").
(Again, nothing is simple here: 328 owners have to take care whereas their car(s) has the single rubber pad carpet (early cars) in the passenger's foot well, or the carpet with two rubber pads of the later cars...) Rgds
World Upholstery in CA. http://www.worlduph.com/ferrari/carpet/#* Bought complete set for my Dino from them some years ago, it was spot on. D
Great thanks for that, will check them out. Hadn’t realised about the RHD vs LHD issue, but of course... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
are you sure? This is Maieli color samples: if it goes out of stock, like the Zegna, they redo it. They are all available Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login see above If you ask one of interior specialist here in Italy that usually work on Ferrari cars (Maieli, Luppi and others), they have everything, LHD or RHD: of course, I would say. We know how to restore our cars… Ciao
I had a 1989 GTB turbo with Castoro 172 carpets and Connolly beige (tan) interiors: that color code and names were official from Ferrari. ciao
Yes the Lakewell set, both sides have heel pads , colour looks a bit faded in the pics, I think that’s due to being under Fluorescent lights Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
