Without the beads there's no replacement for displacement.

Been using the M18 milwaukee one. Works great and only takes 15min to do my bigger car. I then top with a drying aid after I got 90% of the water off. Only us rags from the rag company

i just bought the Adams's blower - it has a long cord and long hose so I can get to all sides without moving the blower. It works great and really good at getting water out of all the nocks and crannies. I paid $160 on Amazon.

I would like to add my experience to this thread.
I like to purchase shop vacs that have the removable motor on top of the vac and converts to a blower. Where space is a premium having a tool that does double duty is a plus and my first vac lasted 15 years. I am now on my 2nd one with 5 years and still going strong. You will still need to chase the blow job with a towel as the blower doesn't dry the car totally but you can always tell the state of your wax or protection layer by the way the water drops run off.

I use a 6.5 hp shop vac blower. No need to towel (defeats the purpose). I don't use the vacuum function just the blower. Can't have anything else big on the same 15 amp circuit or it may trip the breaker. Does a great job. Its pretty loud so use the muffler on it. That causes it to heat up and as a result blows warm air. Fraction of the cost of those automotive units, no hose to drag around, and does a much better job from what I can tell.

I use a Worx plug in blower. Has two modes. The stronger of the two blows the car almost completely dry in less than 5 minutes.
Anything left behind (not much) I use a drying aid with a fresh microfiber towel.

What is the model number for your Worx plug in blower? I am looking for a similar solution.

There are some more powerful options in the "recommended/similar" section but that's the one I have ^
It's not too heavy either. I do wear ear pro every time I dry because I hold the blower fairly close to my head when drying off the roof of a car.

Had it for what must be 5 years now and no complaints...I also use it to blow leaves :)

I was skeptical at first, but the EGO can, and does it very well.

I do. I prefer the more concentrated blast from a compressor compared to a leaf blower. I have the Milwaukee Fuel cordless blower and it’s pretty potent for cordless. For anyone that already has Fuel batteries I’d call the Milwaukee blower a no brainer.

I purchased the Worx WG520. Price was cheap at approximately $60.

Since I am only using to dry my car, I did not care about corded vs. uncorded/battery.

I have only used once - so not a lot of experience. My initial thoughts are:

    1. My car has ceramic coating - which I believe really helps with the air blowing process. I will try on one of my other cars that only has a polish as opposed to ceramic.

    2. The Worx is a bit awkward to hold/maneuver to dry the car. It just might take getting comfortable working with the blower. The back end is obviously where the weight is and is a bit large.

    3. It definitely takes a bit of practice to blow the water actually off of the car as opposed to from one area to the other. Again, the blower is a bit awkward as the intended purpose is more leaf blowing and not aiming the blower in multiple directions.

    4. Since I have only used once, I know that I did not save time! We will see if I get better with multiple attempts.

    5. For sure working with the blower limits the impact of working with microfiber cloths directly on the finish. I also have a full PPF, so that helps. But, I want to keep the PPF as free from issues as possible in terms of micro abrasions, etc.

I've had an EGO for years- it's awesome. I find that it works pretty well as long as the car has some ceramic or hydrophilic coating. It's not as effective on my wife's car (no coating).

For my 458 I prefer to use my bigboi blower instead.
