Ok tifosi, what's the best laser jammer. The three I am looking at are K40, Lidatek, and the Escort ZR3. Input please! If you have any custom installation, let's see some pics. Thanks...

I've found that the Valentine 1 is the best. I've tried all that you mentioned except the Lidatek, and I bought a V1 for each of my cars.

So far, they've saved me from dozens of tickets.

The V1 is not a jammer.

That aside, I have heard good things about Lidatek. I am going with them for sure!

I would look for actual documented results. I looked into these once before, and appeared to be smoke & mirrors. BY the time they actually worked, you were already nailed. I think there was another thread on this recently. you may want to do a search.

They don't work!!! Don't trust them!!!
All they do is warn you and as soon as you hear them go you hit the brakes and they still get you doing 121mph. During the day you keep your eyes open and by the time they go off you see the pig and during the night like I said you still get a ticket. If you only go up to 90mph. maybe then you'll be safe. You get a ticket doing 121 or 160 not gonna be much difference. You have to face the judge and he acts like he is god. Basterds

I'm not talking about radar detectors. I've had too many tickets with radar detectors because, yes, they detect after it's already too late. I want a jammer that will make it impossible for the cops to even take a reading on my car. Usually, so the cops don't think it's finshy, the jammer turns itself off after it jams the laser, thereby giving you time to slow down before the cop tries to take a second reading.

So, does anyone have experience with these? Thanks.

Dont buy K40. I'm getting rid of mine. Go with the Escort 8500 if you want to add the jammer. It plugs right in. The Valentine 1 is the best radar. But they dont make a jammer... yet.

I have heard that Lidatek is the best option out there at the moment. I know a couple people who have this system on their car and they have yet to get stopped. Just remember you need to use your brain when speeding also. Check for hiding areas, always look in the rear view, etc. A radar detector/ jammer is not the sole answer.

What are you talking about? The V1 is a DETECTOR. That's all it is supposed to do!

The Lidatek is a laser jammer. Laser jammers are legal. Radar jammers are not. I was making my post under the assumption that you wanted to use a legal system. If you want to use a radar jammer as well, there are lots I have heard of, but none I know of that work for sure as I do not have one.

    From speedzones.com:

Now, I do not mean to mislead! There is also a paragraph on that same page about the only jammer unit they found that works. If tthat's your thing, go with it. But know that it isn't legal...

Very good point -- remember, if you're going 120 past a sitting cop, even if his laser gun says "error" he's gonna pull you over and write you up with an estimated speed. It's all about early warning -- the jammer gives you a critical extra 5 seconds to slow your butt down. :)

That being said, I too have heard good things about the Lidatek, but do not have first-hand experience with these units yet.

I heard the blinder is pretty good. Works just as much as the lidatek, half the price and it never shots off to cool.
Now that I have a suspended license again, I am gonna have to get something really soon. GA. has more laser then anywhere in the country. As far as detectors they are saying the Bell RX65 is just a tad better then the Val.1 because of the Ka.
Right now I am thinking the blinder and the Bell rx. unless if you guys tell me you had better experiences in others.

they tested a few, it was in the UK so i'm not sure if it'd be different for the US. but there are systems with a laser jammer and detector out there. i've seen jammers for less than a V1, but the point has been made that even if they don't "clock" you and you're doin 120, it doesn't really matter.

If you have a lawyer when you go to court, then at least you have a case. Especially when you drive a red Ferrari. Must do jury trial though.
I was told the combined systems were not very good. I don't know everyone is saying something else. Any real experiences out there??

I use the V1 for a radar detector, I LOVE IT!!

Lidatek looks good but I'm still on the fence.

I still would like an active radar jammer that works(yes, I know they are illegal).

I could care less if the jammers are not legal. I will get one any ideas on which one is the best?

Man if I could get my hands on some to test, I will.

As the son and friend of many cops, there is a code of conduct. Out of all my speeding, I get tickets less than 10% of the time, because of all the cop business cards in my wallet. I could ask some of them to help me test the gear. Or I can maybe do a 50 zone at say 70 and see what I trip, I can easily walk out of a ticket at that rate.

I doubt any jammers will help you in the 100+ zone. At that point put the pedal down and out run them, when you are doing 160 and they peel off, even the copter will have issues following you.

*I in no way endorse speeding or wreckless endangerment of others. Do as I say, not as I do.

Good luck keeping at 160mph. 2:00 AM in the morning at 575 you'll have hard enough time keeping it at 160mph. But you can reach 180mph. once a while and down to 120 range. Up and down like that 575 is the place to run.I have gotton away from cops a few times during the night. During the day forget it. I have many times on a GSXR750/1000. But on a car if there is any traffic, you are not going anywhere. People see blue lights and don't matter what you do in traffic.

If you ain't cheating death you ain't trying.

I think laser jammers are a great concept for little miscalculations in speed. I have yet to hear of one that really works for more than a 20mph error in judgement, so I am book marking this thread.

There was a time when I was up either the 40 or 44, whatever heads from Tx to Ok, and I wished I had a Ferrari then. The truck I had was wide open at 140 mid Nov at around 9pm for a good portion. I have had times on the Southern State pkwy in NY leaving the Hamptons, and sometimes up and down the 110 fwy here in LA I get space to run at over 150. My buddy in Fl has had the Vector up around 200, although the fastest I have been in his car was around 180. My fat butt. Here in LA the best I have done in broad-daylight was on the 10 driving my dad's Vette, we took turns hitting well over 160 on a number of occasssions.

There are places to open up, even in big cities. I sadly never got my 550 past 120.

The problem with determining how well a jammer works is that you can never be sure if your ass was saved by the jammer or by some other random factor. When you see a speed trap and your jammer goes off, you tend to slow to the speed limit anyway. So if the officer never comes after you, you can never be sure if it was because of the jammer, even if it happens a few times a year.

Of course, I couldn't say first hand... using one to avoid speeding tickets is probably against the law...

Not that I'm advocating it but if you happen to have a radar gun that you use to check the speed of your kids pitch at pee wee baseball and you happen to leave it on and active riding home the friendly fellows in blue would probably get a reading of 999.

There are two types or radar jammers that I'm familiar with - passive and active. Passive don't work and active are illegal but can be found and implemented in very "creative" fashions.

Since laser is a light frequency, what about flooding that band of the spectrum. Gosh this could go into a long thread on mired shift, kelvin temperatures of light, foot candles, heck, some one go out and buy them all, I will be ready with bail money for the ones that fail.
