    So by Friday afternoon my Fun Cards were played, I ate our Free Lunch, got my TDL back, and headed back to town about 4, as the Hill Country FCA Reception was that night. Ferrari was running on Full Wets....
    I guess data for next year, it made no sense to me to be risking the cars.

    I did invite two hotties to come, as my Baton Rouge honey was a no show.

    But on the Toll Way, they hydroplaned, and spinning, smacked an 18 wheeler TWICE and ended up punted 100 yards out on the wet grass air bags blown and all the glass blown out of a Dodge Charger.

    Everyone taunted me, at the dinner:
    "Boy, can you pick 'em, or WHAT!!"
    :D :D :D

    They were all okay, shaken up badly....
    The 18 wheeler did not even stop......

    A huge part of the Austin F1, for me is the FCA Reception and this year is no exception.
    Andy Fish, goes all out to insure a First Class event.

    Good to see Jacques Vaucher again with wonderful art and memorabilia.
    He sat next to me and it was a cool party..

    Western Swing....

    Be sure (NEXT year) to grab the Austin Statesman, as F1 magazine does a very nice Special Edition on the event and it's free within the normal $2 Thursday paper.
    I might have an extra or two, if anyone wants one.

    I am trying to get Mondays Edition with the race results, no so far, no joy.

    Ah here's dinner!

    The Special Car this year was very nice too, along with the band!

    Not a player myself but I do have huge respect for his legacy, lots of his presence felt still today.....

    That's it...a final bottle of wine, or Shiner Beer in my case, and it's off to downtown to get a little rest!

    Scammer Alert!!
    I had sent a considerable amount of money, to California, to a Facebook user that held (she said) a VIP Champions Club credential.
    Thinking that would be a nice way to entertain my Baton Rouge baby, while I worked mornings, I sent the money.
    It included a hotel downtown too (also not needed) still I have not trashed a room in a long time, would have been fun....chocolate syrup and KY, on the sheets....

    That was the end of that....POOF! ......$1200 up in smoke!
    As it turned out, I did not need it.
    I saw the white busses coming from the AT&T hotel, but truly I was having about 3X the fun, that they were!!

    Still, pizzed me off every time I saw one of THESE go by!
    "This way sir!"....mumble mumble mumble......

    Maybe a chatter in San Bernadino could drop by her house, for a little chat on " %&^$^$%&ing with BigTex"

    Ahem...Qualifying.......man, hard to track!

    Two sessions, in and out of the pits, Ferrari 1, 2, for most of the day, with good speed, then Hammy comes out and pips us by what, a fraction of a second??

    And Vettel's "Speeding Penalty" in the wet (and worthless rain practice), costs him THREE Spots!
    I shake hands with the Mercedes fans in the Turn 5 Sky box, the bartender, recognizing me, pours a stiff double, no probably a triple, and....

    The Iceman, enters the weekend.

    Turn 5 is a good vantage, overlooking the 3, 4 ,5 chicane, the cars were actually bottoming out here throwing sparks, and they also made an odd "woof woof woof" sound, as the drivers were ....what?

    Feathering the throttle?
    Momentary ignition retard via the "Magic buttons" on the wheel?
    Interesting to hear.....

    Now, I could not pick this Bruno Mars guy out of a Police Line up, but my friend from Venezuela (you may recall from LAST years highlights, as well as MotoGP) was over the moon to see him, so guess who gets the call??

    I get her, her brother, and three random babes off the Ring Road, and flash them around the Metal Scan gates, and in thru a Service Gate, like we were bringing in crushed ice, or something....she sees my new hats and negotiations begin....:D :D

    Quid pro Quo....but she is only learning English, Latin might be next year.....
